I believe the answer is in favor of Yes but obviously the individual has to have the talent to match. What I mean by changing image, it can just be one little thing like a haircut. I was thinking about a guy like Rick Rude who to me just looked like a star and true heavyweight champion once he cut his hair. I think a guy like Dolph can stand to go back to the blonde short hair as I think it was his best look and in my opinion while just make him look a little better from the pack.
What are you guys thoughts about changing of appearances? Obviously we got cases recently with Sheamus and his look which for better or worse draws the attention immediately to him.

Look at Miz, he had no shot before the Calgary Kid change but that change in gear was a massive improvement. Finding the right look is extremely important, even Austin struggled after the change to Stone Cold but just going to all black instead of having stars or banners with his name on it was massive.

I think it was more the fact that Miz clearly took himself more seriously around the time he made the gear change instead of being the goofball that challenged Invisible John Cena to fights that essentially saved him but I see your point.

It saved his career and launched him on one of the better years a superstar has had as far as climbing up the ladder goes. Dude literally was on fire and only thing he didn't win was the RR because he was obviously the champ by then.

Yeah but could you ever see that dude in the bedazzled fedora and Bret Hart styled jorts actually main eventing Wrestlemania, serious or not? The attitude change was a big part but without overhauling his look, he's still a goof.

However, I will also point out that when Miz first came into the company, having the jorts was a huge positive, as it allowed him to stand out from the crowd instantly and complimented his douchey heel character.

No, as soon as you change your image it is physically impossible to become a star. If you even think about trying you will be sent to Lithuania and beaten with shovels like Aksana.

I remember when John Cena had a stupid haircut and Vince wanted to fire him. Cena changed his look, stood out, and now look at him.

I agree. Evan Bourne doesn't look like he's 12 now that he has facial hair.

Unless you look and work the same way you did on the first day of wrestling school, you will never succeed in dis bidness.

Heh well he's not talking about character changes like Rocky becoming The Rock or Ringmaster becoming SCSA.
Just appearance changes like you're the same character except you got a haircut or wear a new thing or something.

EC3 looks infinitely more like a star since changing his look.
