Just confirming what we already knew, courtesy of Wreddit. "...I didn't know what Paul E was going to ask and he started talking about Brock Lesnar and Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas and of course boy I bit hook, line, and sinker Stone Cold mode. Started cutting a half ass promo, wasn't trying to, and ended up talking about me whipping Brock's ass because as Stone Cold Steve Austin that's the only way I can see that match going down. But here's the thing, what I did was kinda raise the hopes of people or half way kinda half assed booked myself into a match which was not my intention. So at Wrestlemania 32 I don't believe you are going to be seeing Brock Lesnar and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the same ring. It wasn't my intention to spin a match or sell a match, so I just wanted to make that clear for everybody... Brock Lesnar will continue down the road he's going down, I'm going to continue going down the road I'm going on which is doing podcasts..." So there you have it. I personally didn't actually see the match happening in the first place but I know a lot of people did and got their hopes up. You can hear what he said for yourself on his podcast if you'd like. Starts talking about it at around 7:15 - www.PodcastOne.com/pg/jsp/program/episode.jsp?programID=542&pid=513148--- I think whilst live on the network as Stone Cold, he wouldn't want to say outright, "Oh, I can't wrestle anymore, I'm long retired/50/too injured" and so likes to keep fans believing he could still be the old Stone Cold if he wanted to. Yet, he knows he can't do it anymore and does not want to give fans an inferior version of Stone Cold and taint his legacy. I respect him for that, especially when we saw in TNA a flabby, 80 year old Ric Flair, thin white hair all over the place and covered in blood, just a sad joke.

Of course it wasn't happening. The big money match for WM32 is Punk vs Hogan for the Stanley Cup, you silly goose.

I'm so sick of 'Austin's wrestling this year' rumors.
At this point, I want him to either do it or come out and say he never will.

With his history of injuries and his age he never should wrestle again. He can make plenty of money doing things that are a lot safer.

I didn't think he was really going to wrestle again UNTIL that response to Heyman. The way he answered, the attitude he slipped into, the Texas Death Match suggestion - it all felt like it was a deliberate and planned development to light a fire under WrestleMania at this early stage and get people like me seriously thinking about committing to being there in person, and pretty much set one match now on what will likely be the biggest card in the history of the company owing to the venue they are trying to fill.
Hearing now that there was nothing in it feels a little disappointing, even for someone like me who never thought Austin would wrestle again before the podcast.
But it is a good move - with his injury record and his age, Austin probably shouldn't wrestle again anyway.

Eh, I still want to see Austin vs. Punk just because the build would be amazing and those two characters are pretty much perfect for feuding. I'd love to see Austin vs. Brock, but it's not a huge loss.

Still say he wrestles but it wont be against Brock , Austin knows exactly what to do and wont spoil a damn thing if something is in the works.

It sounded too good to be true and Austin has managed to stay retired for over 12 years now (jeez, I feel old just typing that) but I believe he could still put on a good-great match. He is still in great shape. He really hasn't aged a day since his retirement. He's had 12 years to heal injuries and rest. I'm certain that he could wrestle at least one more match and look good doing it, but he knows that it's not his time anymore. You gotta respect a wrestler that sticks to his retirement, especially without having a real send-off.

I was on board for this. I envisioned a match similar to the Ric Flair vs Undertaker match at Wrestlemania 18.
