But who really bought this? Who really believed it was gonna happen? Dave Meltzer seemed to think it was quite possible on Observer radio after the Heyman podcast last week.

With his history of injuries and his age he never should wrestle again. He can make plenty of money doing things that are a lot safer.

Naw, I'm good. I'm tired of seeing guys get their potential wasted just because of WWE's refusal to get out of the past.

Yeah, sorry, he so is.
He loses two huge interviews to Jericho. He comes back and they give him the most controversial guest he can possibly have and who is still active on the roster. So he's doing a promo during a heavily promoted podcast with the advocate for Lesnar. He's talked about the regret he's felt for the way he walked about 900 times on that same podcast. He just did that because he had no idea what Heyman was gonna say. He suggests a match, that in reality can contain no serious bumps at all and still be compelling. One of his huge deals is promos and they have to mean things and the people have to take you seriously and then you gotta do follow through. He totally didn't think the Internet would think anything was up but him cutting a promo for the fun of it. Then he denies it has any meaning whatsoever.
That was a float to see how people would react. Lesnar vs. Austin IS happening.

the only chance in hell they have of a legit sellout is probably Austin V Lesnar.
I mean there hasn't really been a mania since III anywhere close to a 100,000 attendance and even mania 3 was 10 or 20,000 tickets off that (depending on who you ask)

Just confirming what we already knew, courtesy of Wreddit. "...So at Wrestlemania 32 I don't believe you are going to be seeing Brock Lesnar and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the same ring. ..." So you're saying there's a chance!!!

When you think about it, how many people thought we'd actually see Rock vs. Cena? WWE's a crazy place when it comes to WrestleMania.

He just doesn't want to take his shirt off and reveal his John Cena tattoo.

Honestly, it really is too early for us to schedule any WrestleMania match so while I didn't believe he was going to fight Lesnar when he did it, I don't exactly believe this thing of him not wrestling at WrestleMania.
It's a wait and see situation.

It's very sweet of you to refer to your dog as your roommate. It's also cute that your dog was hyped for the match. Because no human would've caught on.

Good.
Austin was GREAT, but I never need to see him in ring again. That'd have been a wasted Lesnar match in my view.

www.wrestlezone.com/news/586815-report-why-steve-austin-vs-brock-lesnar-wont-happen-what-vince-mcmahon-thought-of-the-podcastAs noted, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin commented on his podcast about his talks with Paul Heyman on the Stone Cold WWE Network broadcast, saying he wasn’t trying to set up a match. Austin said he raised people’s hopes and spun the match, but he didn’t mean to and he doesn’t think that match with Brock Lesnar would happen. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Austin and Lesnar have talked about this match before, considering it the biggest match they could do. The matchup has never happened, and Heyman is friends with both men, so all parties thought there could be some potential. Austin has gone on record saying he has not committed to a comeback, and would not return to the ring unless everything aligned and it worked correctly, and he got cleared to wrestle in the first place. It was said the reason the “Death Match” stipulation was discussed was because it could be booked more as a fight, and could help protect Austin’s neck. Some are saying no one was prepared to go this route on the podcast, but Heyman asked the question, Austin was ready with an answer, and the graphics coordinator was ready as well. Even though it’s said there was some plan to go this way in talk, Heyman didn’t know Austin’s response, or that he would cut a promo on him. Even with the tease on the Network show, it’s being said the match won’t happen, and if it doesn’t now, it won’t ever. Vince McMahon was said to be upset at the close of the show, because the proposed match won’t happen and they can’t deliver anything as big as that at Wrestlemania 32. Vince was said to want the story to go away quickly; the idea being Austin would address it once and be done with it. Currently, and before the podcast took place, WWE had no plans to run Brock Lesnar vs Steve Austin at WrestleMania 32, so Vince was not happy that the tease went public without that being WWE’s plan.

It's also cute that your dog was hyped for the match. Because no human would've caught on. He's one of those guys who lives and breathes wrestling cause he grew up in the Attitude Era. He only knows WWE and takes everything at face value. It's refreshingly hilarious. He armchair books like Vince Russo. We'll be talking about wrestling all normal and all of a sudden, he's telling me about how Mark Henry's hand son needs to be wrestling.
