I remember someone once saying something about how if WWE stuck to the original WrestleMania 30 plans, instead of having a champion who got hurt 3 weeks into his reign, you could have had Batista as champion, who was part of the hottest movie of the year going up against Lesnar hot off of ending the streak.
He was being a wise ass, but there's some truth to it

Aside from their OVW match they had a standoff in the 2003 Rumble for a few seconds.

Did they wrestle before? I think they did, but... OVW maybe but not on the main roster to my knowledge. The only time when they ever were even in the same match on the main roster was the 2003 Royal Rumble.

Batista vs Lesnar vs Goldberg vs Heath Slater it's the Fatal Fourway the Worlds been waiting for.And Frankly I'd be shocked if the One Man Rock Band didn't walk out Victorious

LESNAR WOULD f***ING MURDER HIM To be fair who realistically stands a chance against Lesnar in real life? Jack Swagger? And look how far down the card Jack Swagger is. It's wrestling, wrestling is all about presentation. Swagger vs. Lesnar is my personal dream match. Yeah, Jack Swagger is far down the card, but I'm more interested in a jobber standing up to the Beast Incarnate even in the possibility of getting squashed than WWE trying and failing to pretend that Batista's legacy both wrestling and MMA wise, is equal to Brock's. Lesnar and Big Dave was my dream match in the 2000s, not so much in the 2010s.

I don't think their styles mesh. Batista is a very big, quite strong guy - Lesnar is a freak of nature. It'd be quite difficult to sell it well because of the ridiculous difference in athletic ability. I've never really thought of this as much of a go-to match.

If only WWE didn't waste 3 damn matches Brock Lesner.
The Cena match should have been saved if Brock was gonna lose. Triple H once was ok, but Triple H should have lost.
His return should have been him being an uncrowned king.
There were several things that should've happened differently. The fact we never got Punk and Leaner as a team before they fought was crazy.
Batista fighting Brock could've worked.

Breaking the streak saved Brocks mystique after HHH messed it up

If they did it, I would have Big Dave play like he's sort of delusional and think he's on Brock's level; but then Brock annihilates him in pretty short order.

you could have had Batista as champion, who was part of the hottest movie of the year going up against Lesnar hot off of ending the streak. He was being a wise ass, but there's some truth to it Batista wasn't in the hottest movie of the year at that point, and he was still scheduled to leave before the movie premiered. Guardians of the Galaxy was not expected to be anywhere near as good or successful as it was.

That is really interesting, because Batista (to me, at least, when he was a Deacon) just looked like a discount Brock, right down to the back tattoo. You'd think at some time they were gonna match them up.

Like I'm sure Marvel greenlit the movie knowing it was going to be a box office success but not to the point it was the third highest grossing movie of the year.

Breaking the streak saved Brocks mystique after HHH messed it up I still wonder why those in charged approved a trilogy. No reason for Lesnar to put HHH over. NONE.

Guardians came out late July/early August so while that was still 3 weeks of Batista's face being all over promotional material for both things alongside of Lesnar. No one expected it sure, and as I said what the guy said was mostly hindsight, but it would have been interesting considering the success of the movie.

I'm sorry but Dave is really not a badass. Not even close. He's the least intimidating "big guy" ever. If he started shit with me in jail I'd pop him in the mouth.
