Anybody else enjoying having only one "World Title" around?

This is based off my response on one of the post asking if another championship should be created. I was originally in favor of having only one championship, but I don't think it has been used right since they took away the world title. My original thought was that they would make it more important, guys would cut more promos about gunning for the title because it was the only around. Even go back to the old school approach of if you get US/IC title it's more step to the big title.

The way they have positioned the title is basically one man in and one man out but when a guy leaves the feud you don't hear him reference the title anymore. The money in the bank contract has basically taking the spot of the world title as far as elevating guys. Are you in favor of brining back the big belt with a brand split or rather more focus be on the midcard in hopes that it will bring more prestige to the midcard titles?

I was fine with 2 world titles up until they started doing the Raw SuperShows in Fall 2011. It served its purpose.

However, I also thought that when its purpose was gone, AKA being the #1 guy on a brand, it was time to get rid of 2 world titles. Plus, the roster was super thin at that point.

That being said, I think the time will come in a year or 2 that everybody will be pining for the brand split and 2 top titles. The main roster is gonna be the deepest it has been in a decade and there will not be enough shine to go around.

One world title is fine. WWE just needs to stop dragging out title feuds for 3-4 months.

Even with the brand split, there should've been only one top title. It made no sense for the "WWE Champion" to only be champion of half of WWE.

Considering they're trying to elevate the IC and US titles now, I love it.

Yes there needs to only one World Champion. This also gives more importance to the Intercontinental and US Title.

Yeah I always thought they should've done US title (Smackdown) IC title (Raw) and the world belt was defended rarely.

I didn't mind this as much as some did because when there was that defense it had this big match feel. I guess this is old school in my talking because Hogan wasn't monthly either in his heyday. I be find if it wasn't every PPV or every month. Bi Monthly would be cool too. It could be even bigger match feel is they spend the whole time building up that match and talking about it.

How I have always wanted it to be was, if there is a brand split, since Smackdown is the 'B' show its top belt should be the IC belt, and they should buildup a top guy on Smackdown then draft him to Raw and give him a real big title run.

But! Since they're already doing that with the NXT belt, cancel Smackdown.

Having two world titles was fine when you had a brand split, but when that ended it was completely pointless.

I loved the use of the title when it was on Lesnar - that's how a champion should be treated: as a special attraction. It made the matches so much more important and gave guys like Rollins, Ambrose and Wyatt a chance to main event PPVs, something that wouldn't have had otherwise. Rollins reign has been shite due to them going from the dominant, protected reign of Lesnar to cowardly champion, interference-filled matches and repeat title matches on PPV.

Hoping the title goes back on Lesnar at Summerslam. It should never have left his shoulder in the first place.

I may be in the miniority here , but I would love to see the world title return - Put that belt on Ziggler, Ryback , Sheamus , Cody Rhodes ( not Stardust ) ,

There should always be only one title, unless they do the story I suggested and have the anti-Authority wrestlers organise their own title as a protest against corporate corruption.

I don't. I miss the brand split and I miss the period when not only was the World title around but it was treated as just as legitimate of a prize as the WWE one.

Does it really make any difference? I mean, does it REALLY? It's not like champions are booked any stronger because there's one world champion. Now, all the goofballs that would be fighting for the WHC have to settle for the IC title. Other than that, nothing has changed.
