He's the ultimate proof that the man makes the title, not the other way around.

Swagger was a great champion. They just ruined him by bad booking.
He should've never been losing non title matches cleanly, and he should've been kept in a relatively high spot on the card after losing the beltZ

They made him entirely too serious with the belt, losing the pushups and sticking him in a suit. He just looked like he was cosplaying Jericho.

He was the first person to get Jerichoized. Dude didn't even smile when he won the belt, just held it up and frowned.

I'll always love the promos he did with all of his trophies in the ring.

One of the worst examples of SRS Jericho's influence around that time.
From the moment he wins the title, he instantly goes from this really hyper heel to "I hate my life but I'm better than you blurrrgh" and starts wearing suits for no reason in particular.

He should try either Cena or Owens' challenges, he'd work well with either of them, as well as getting some notice again. "We the people" seems to still work, so I'm sure it'd get a reaction. May as well go for it.

Honestly he didn't do a bad job as SRS WANNABE JERICHO. But by god he was booked so terrible. Anti climatic win, becomes serious, jobs to everyone, loses to Rey Mysterio in a feud where he had no momentum, booked like a chump every since

I was hyped for his title run, even when he got the 1-2-3 and did the serious face, I was like okay maybe a new direction. Soon enough it became apparent that they gave him the Jericho approach as we mentioned. He should of been the nerdy jock that is so good and you want someone to knock him off his perch. Feuding with Mysterio did him no favors as well. In my opinion Swagger should of been the one to end Rusev streak at Summerslam considering the build and Swagger being all about America but they def played well off each other.

You know things aren't going well for you when the blowoff of your feud is you getting thrown in to a river.

Honestly there were times where Jack Swagger did surprisingly well as champion. Then there were other times were he just didn't mesh with the belt at all.
And of course all the atrocious booking didn't help matters whatsoever.
