So I was a fairly big collector of Transformers around 2006-2010 and have sort of tapered off since then. Not a -massive- collection but it frankly takes up a lot of space, especially considering I kept the boxes for a lot of them. I need to start selling them off simply because I have way too much stuff as it is and aside from a few figures and characters, it's again, just sort of taking up space.
I feel like I have two or three options... eBay, which is probably the best, but the most time-consuming on my part, comic shops, which would in theory be easier but I would probably only be able to sell the vintage ones, and conventions, where I could in theory sell to a dealer or something. I got nothing. I don't want to just haul them to Goodwill, but I've got to do -something- about them.
I think the demand is still decent as the TF franchise is still chugging along even with the movies hitting diminishing returns, but again, that's why I want to sell before the prices fall off again.
Anybody done anything like this before?

If there is a mom & pop shop that buys action figures...I'd say that. The one near me bought a ton of my figures for really nice prices. I walked out with a few hundred bucks just by selling "common" figures from years back. I still kept most of the G1 reissue stuff, but I did pretty good I think. It helps if you keep the packaging etc needless to say.
I'd check into that if you have one in your area.

I agree with G1 above. I sold off which would have been 75% of my collection around 2004.
I did it two ways. I sold a bulk (marvel legends/DC/loose and sealed action figures) to one collectible shop which got a good bit of money back. And I did something else with the transformers I sold. I did a thing where I sold them through another local comics shop. The figures were sold individually and they took a percent. I sold them for a little less than what I could've gotten on eBay, but I needed the money sooner. Now trust me. The figures I sold then would've net me a pretty pretty PRETTY penny now, but you live and you learn.
With Instagram and EBay you can kind of do what you want. Sell lots to mix it up and sell single figures that you know will go for a lot.

Anybody done anything like this before? Ebay as you said will get you the most money. COmic shops will give you the least. And more than likely cherry pick what they want. Cons, well at least the cons I have been to frown upon someone selling that didn't pay for a table. Try Craigslist or maybe goto one of the big Transformer's forums and see if you can sell them there.
