I do wonder...if you could somehow take Bryan out of the Rumble or hadn't brought him back would the reaction have been as bad? I'd say more lethargic than anything. The Rumble was a lousy match with poor wrestling and booking anyway. What's sad is I kinda get what they were attempting to do, namely have a couple of powerful heels run roughshod for a while until finally someone stops them (Reigns). That is such cheesy 80s era booking though and the problem is that no one is over enough in any of those roles to pull it off. Show and Kane have go away heat and Reigns wasn't that over as a face.
The Rumble will and should win but the Storm/Mickie thing was more of a Wrestlecrap type moment. It was just too over the line and the feud itself didn't need this.

Am I the only vote for HHH/Sting here? If the Rumble didn't go as it did that'd be my choice

Bray Wyatt's entire run this year so far. Or TNA''s move to Destination America.

If anything from the Rumble - 'Mania build should even qualify it's Vince writing Roman Reigns' promos.

Too many people over the years have been confusing Wrestlecrap with Booking I Didn't Like... and it makes me sad.
Mickie James being murdered just to make a ho-hum wrestling match is glorious crap. Exploding R Truth for no reason? Wonderful Crap! The Bella Confessionals? Amazing Crap!
The Rumble is just bad booking. Where's the "fun" in just bitching about bad booking? You just became like 97% of all the other sites out there. Congrats.

Going by past winners, something anticlimactic.

Thing is that this was at the height of Roman giving cheesy, stupid promos that even Cena would watch and say were dumb. There probably would have been a lot of booing for Roman winning and the fans still would have shit all over Rock putting over his cousin.

I was predicting Roman getting booed out of the building before they even announced Bryan's return. There is no way Philadelphia sees Dean Ambrose or Dolph Ziggler in that match, and decides that Roman is more worthy of a Wrestlemania title shot than either of them.

Yeah Reigns at the beginning of the year was getting the epitome of the Blatant Push. It's entirely possible the crowd would have booed him in favor of Ambrose or Ziggler, but at least those guys were in there more or less at the same time as him so it would have been minimized. Tossing Bryan with zero fanfare just pissed off the crowd in a really violent way. Good grief, it shocked everyone in the living room at my house. My friend's wife came in a few minutes later and she was like "Who is still in the Rumble?" I said whoever was there and then noted "Bryan was already tossed randomly by Bray Wyatt after about 10 minutes." "WHAT? "

Bray Wyatt's entire run this year so far. Or TNA''s move to Destination America. No way on Bray Wyatt. He's reached 1991-92 Evil Jake Roberts level.

Congrats. actually that's why I started hating WC , it felt more like other wrestling sites than one "celebrating" how stupid is wrestling at times I remember that starting when Eddie-ploitation won the 2005 Gooker. People were so disgusted by the angle that they all but demanded it be included, and it seemed a bit controversial at the time. Since then, bad booking has often trumped pure crappy angles/gimmicks.

^Yeah the Gooker kinda switched meaning, whereas normal Crap was still more lighthearted the Gooker itself became more synonymous with just "Bad Booking or Bad Decisions" from the year. If we're talking classic fun Crap "that can only happen in pro wrestling", the Storm/James thing is without a doubt the hottest contender. I'd say Hornswoggle vs Chavo was the last time it was just fun stupid stuff, that I can remember that won anyways.
The Gooker hasn't celebrated dumb fun things in forever though so I still hold true to the fact it should be the awfully boring Rumble this year.
Maybe it's just time to split the award and come up with a name for Gooker awards that go towards stuff like Brass Ring or TNA Management as a whole?

Vince will say something stupid again and it will will the gooker. And here's your answer. It won't be anything TNA related because no matter how much Gooker award winning matches and angles that occur, it will be either a WWE match or angle that angered smarks or someone in WWE management saying something that pisses folks off that will win. The true spirit behind the Gooker is dead. Just call it the Vince MCMahon Did Something Stupid award.

Either the rumble, more for the booking than the result. Apart from the local men and Reigns no body did anything. May as well used 27 jobbers.
Also everything to do with #ithappens but especially TNA spoiling their own show in the preview clips.

How about just an overall "LOLTNA" award? Between the botched move to DA, half the roster either being racist, homophobic, or telling fans to kill themselves on Twitter, pushing a 43 year old who should have retired almost a decade ago as the top guy in the promotion, and having a televised murder with no on-screen repercussions the entire year has been a turd of epic proportions.

If that wasn't in keeping with the true spirit of the Gooker, I don't know what is. And then the next year it was Evil Authority Figure Dixie Carter, which, while I wasn't watching TNA at the time, I imagine had to be just hilariously awful and/or cringeworthy.
