I have no problem with Jarrett and the possibility of a GFW invasion. Best case scenario, GFW's roster wins all of TNA's championships (notice that GFW hasn't instituted its own yet), brings them to GFW and rechristens them, LOLTNA dies like everyone wanted.
It's only right that Jarrett and GFW give TNA a proper mercy killing.

Ok first Jeff looked nervous returning to the company. He didn't wanted to hug Dixie, he looked mad and disgusted. When he was giving his passionate speech, the wrestlers were checking out their smartphones. Jeff is almost 50 years old and appears to be outta shape, I don't buy him as "the man", this deal is just so that he gets the last laugh. Only interesting part of the video was that he looked annoyed to hug Dixie.

Around 2008 or so, a story floated around that went like this: Triple H was mouthing off backstage around some of the guys, to the point of making racist comments. MVP then became so enraged that he charged at Hunter with a screwdriver, becoming a locker-room hero in the process. I'm pretty sure someone here made that up. The funny thing is that MVP is aware of this story! mobile.twitter.com/the305mvp/status/225331930663628800Wow that is hilarious! I never heard about that story before. That's up there with Joey Mercury getting fired from WWE because he hit Stephanie McMahon, which is especially funny given his role now.

So I would hope that Jeff fails to win the King of the Mountain match, and becomes obsessed with destroying TNA and pissing on its grave. That has some potential for wacky ridiculousness. In competent hands, it could even be...good?

Yeah, didn't most of the people at the show mention they were hired specifically for like the two shows.

Yeah, most are contracted to NJPW, ROH or were local to the ball park shows. I think like Masters and Shelton are like the only two that don't fall into one of them other categories.

Sean Waltman @therealxpac 22s22 seconds ago Im happy to see Jeff on there. He's the smartest guy about the industry in that building at the moment. You realize that's more damning than insightful, right, Sean?

The best part of that is, it was Supersweet who finally pointed out "Wait...MVP and a screwdriver?!" Everyone was going on about Trips ending the streak.

Heavenly Bodies Masters That guy named after Converse shoes the internet really likes You gotta figure the BDC and the Rising will just destroy each other. Hey, they add a couple more pieces, they might have a shot of taking down TNA.

This is such a glorious trainwreck of a company. They don't give a single iota of a shit anymore.

Cannot for the life of me comprehend why Jarrett is reattaching his name and his brand to TNA. It was already bad enough he was using the 6-sided ring and doing the ballpark shows, both things that TNA is known for. What can he possibly hope to gain from this? Their roster is depleted to the point it's not worth much (and really, if he wanted them, he could have just waited a week or three), and their main guy is his wife's ex. Their TV slot is looking like it might be a lost cause. The name? It's a joke now in the business and advertising world. The belts? Surely he can get better ones cheaper.
I just don't get it.
I will reverberate something that's already been said here, though - if tonight was anything even near what we're to expect with Global - Jarrett putting himself in main events, the surprise run-ins by long-gones and guys from 20+ years ago, it reeks highly of the way TNA first operated and shows that Jeff hasn't learned a damned thing in all these years.

This is one of those rare times in pro wrestling when a shoot is even more confusing and unrealistic then kayfabe. What the hell are they doing?

I think he wants to slowly put pieces of TNA into GFW until the point where TNA permanently falls. I believe that The ultimate endgame is that GFW becomes TNA in every way except for the actual TNA brand. He'll basically regain TNA without having to actually purchase the company from the Carters and take on its debts.

My guess Jarrett playing Dixie for GFW exposure, Dixie being too stupid to realize it thinking she's doing some revolutionary invasion storyline, and Jarrett being stupid for trying to jumpstart his fed by associating it with the TNA brand. Stupidity on both ends with ROH being positioned before and after Impact and about to become the number 2 company if they keep putting on shows like tonight.

GFW has had like 3 or 4 shows, all of which were incredibly underwhelming when it comes to attendance and obviously they've never had anything on TV/PPV. So GFW is pretty much worthless this early in the game. And when it comes to Jeff, the only thing I can think is perhaps he is getting terrified by his show's lack of a TV deal despite paying for the big deposit on running an Arena the size of the one they booked in Vegas. So maybe he is either going to use this as some sort of way to get in with the DA higher ups and perhaps take TNA's time slot from right under them and use it for his own promotion

I am baffled by so much of what happened, but I feel like that's the point. Like somewhere out there, Billy Corgan is laughing it up because he managed to "work" everyone into expecting something even remotely worth watching. I don't buy that these "big news" leaks weren't someone playing the dirtsheets for shits and giggles, especially factoring in the whole "nobody on the roster knew about this" bit, so my guess is that the company decided to drum up some buzz by 'working the marks' and my eyes are right on Billy for this disaster.
