I've been a pretty big fan of Linkara for a number of years now, but I have to say, my interest in him is starting to decline. I know a lot of people on here never liked him to begin with, but I got a lot of joy out of his reviews. Since he started cow-towing to his Patreon sponsors, his show has fallen off the cliffs for me. I guess I just prefer Super Hero comics more (although his Warrior comics reviews with Spoony are some of his best works) and I realize that there's more to just super heroes in comics, but what he's reviewing now just sucks. Indy, artsy fartsy, Manga, and web comic series hold no interest to me at all, and the Patreon Sponsors seem to be doing nothing but requesting these kinds of things for him to review. None of them are particularly bad, so that classic Linkara anger is never there. None of them have really long, interesting histories like the Titans or other good comics he's reviewed, so there's nothing for me there either. I might drop in once in a while when he does a DC or Marvel comic, but I think I'm done with Linkara.
It makes me sad, because I still like the guy and all, but his show is no longer for me.

I feel the same way, but at the same time I can at least respect the fact that he's delivering the product that he promised for people who donated to his patreon.

Well, the next four weeks he's sorta doing both DC and Marvel...as he'll be reviewing the "Stan Lee Creates The DCU" series.

...become a sponsor so you have influence on what he reviews?

I like his HOPR reviews, but otherwise, I've only watched a few of his other reviews.

He's been dang good about keeping his word as far that goes, IMO. Unlike some other people who seem to be doing even less since getting huge money from Patreon sponsors *coughcoughSPOONYcoughcough" As for donating myself...I can't afford it, and I don't know what to suggest even if I could.

If you could afford it, I would give you one of my many suggestions for Patreon besides my prime one of {Spoiler}Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man

I agree. Every now and then I'll check out his stuff, but so much of it are videos I have no interest in like the Patreon stuff you mentioned. Couple that with the overall feel going from poking fun at books to outright ranting, and it's few and far between that I'll find a video in the last year or so that I finish of those I do check out.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I guess it was just needed by him. I prefer superhero stuff, too, but given people getting furious when he asked them to not adblock and basically stealing his content, acting like this was some outrageous request, he pretty much had to do something to keep this as his fulltime job and keep content coming out.

Take that for what you will.

I am glad he pretty well does his skits after the reviews. I couldn't begin to care about those.

he's hit or miss, and has been for years. I feel sometimes he's really not being fair to a book and lets his personal bias get in the way of things.

I prefer when he does obscure stuff or stuff thats not a "traditional" comic like the Whiz Kids comics ("THESE KIDS ARE PLANTS!"). Theres probably millions of stuff online talking about how bad random 90s crossover is, but the stuff thats really stupid that fell under the radar is whats interesting to me. However, at this point, im only watching the videos if its something that sounds interesting.

Fell behind him a while ago, but I want to catch up at some point. I still like him, judging by the weekly threads for Atop the Fourth Wall I imagine there other Linkara fans here.

At this point, I've pretty much lost interest in everyone from TGWTG Channel Awesome. Brad Jones and ToddInTheShadows were the last ones that I still followed regularly, and it wasn't until a few days ago I realized I hadn't checked out any of their new videos in almost two months. Honestly, I think the whole Angry Internet Reviewer fad is losing it's luster, possibly due to how oversaturated it's gotten in the last couple years. And I think that was also one of Linkara's biggest appeals; aside from The Last Angry Nerd, Linkara was pretty much the only person on that site who dealt with comic books (not counting manga). Unfortunately, superhero comics are the only type I really care about, and with him dedicating less time to them these days, I don't have much interest in getting back into him now.

I always got the idea that he got heat for encouraging people to click the ads and then close right back out "if they really supported him", which the terms and conditions for YouTube's ad program prohibit encouraging. If it really was just because he wanted people not to use adblock, I mean, that's reasonable of him to expect. Can't blame him for wanting his fair share.
