Please don't retire Chuck Taylor, you're the best wrestler in the world, you're in way better shape than Seth Rollins!

I had forgotten which section I was in and thought this was about sneakers. Maybe he's retiring just the name. He's never been found of it.

It's...tough. The selfish fan in me just wants to see one of the best guys in North America(and he is, certainly, one of the best) keep going and hopefully FINALLY get a big fish's attention. But the pragmatist in me gets his point. He can only bang his head against the wall until the law of averages catches up to you and a serious injury makes that decision for you.

I miss him on PWG DVD commentary so...so much now. It's just not the same or as good anymore without him. Even with Excalibur being as great a commentator as he is, PWG has now lost Owens and Taylor within months of each other it shows in the quality of the commentary

It's the name he probably got known by, and didn't want to confuse promoters. Samoa Joe tells a story about first starting out, and how he got his name. Something about there being 2 Joe's in the room, and he was Samoan. So he was called Samoan Joe... and when other promoters would call, they wanted to book Samoan Joe. He mentioned that if he would have changed it, he might have lost out on bookings. Maybe Chuckie T went through the same thing.

I can totally understand him walking away and respect that.
I'd prefer him move on and have a comfortable and successful life as opposed to seeing him in his late 40's driving a broken down car and barely able to walk into some small indy show desperately trying to get a buck from anyone who remembers him.
Wish he would have made it big.

Just glad to see someone not wanting to go down that road. I think he will have a pretty good amount of people that remember him and celebrate his work and he deserves every bit of credit that he gets. Easily one of the more entertaining guys I've ever watched.

I think the best thing about this new era of "self-aware" wrestling is that the days of "old-broken down dude performing in front of 10 people for gas money" is slowly coming to an end. More and more young guys are getting educated BEFORE they get into the business, so they have stuff to fall back on when they either don't catch on in a big time way, or they get hurt. It's a good thing.

Wish Chuck the best of luck, not easy to switch careers.
