People still have the mindset that comics and the movies nowadays based off them are still the campy 60s Batman version when they are anything but. Same with animation, they see it and go "Oh its only a silly cartoon just for kids like Mickey Mouse." And who's letting these kids who aren't even ten years old or younger go in and watch it? I'm pretty sure you're suppose to abide by the ratings system and your job is to prevent them from going in even if they with an adult as its not meant for them. It'd be like a kindergarden teacher showing a film about medieval times and she pops in an episode of Game of Thrones. I ask this...not be a smart aleck but to be serious...are you for real...? NOBODY has this mentality anymore...we live in an age where comic book films have been in the the mainstream since 2007... Not to mention the WORLDWIDE phenomenon that was Batman '89... I have never met one person that has watched a recent Marvel or DC trailer and said..."Well...that's just dumb kid's stuff like them old 60's shows..." Where do you live...? Where do you come from to have such a closeted mind towards people...? Uh......no, people most certainly do still have this mentality that certain things are meant for kiddies. Take for example the various shitstorms that happen when a major M-rated video game, like say the latest GTA game, comes out and a bunch of parents/grandparents who are still stuck in the "video games are for kids" mentality get the game for the kiddies, and then flip a tit when they see the content inside. I most certainly remember seeing people take kids to things like Watchmen and Kick-Ass and other not-meant-for-kids superhero films, and even heard some of them complaining to the theatre manager along the lines of, "I thought this was a superhero film?! Why was it so violent?". I think you give people too much credit.....there are a bunch of....let's just say "misinformed" people out there.

If Spidey appearing in Marvel Studios flicks has any success, I wonder if it will make Fox consider also collaborating. Deadpool interacts with pretty much the entire Marvel universe. So even some minor characters appearing in future DP flicks would be cool. He could signal The Avengers to help him in the sequel, only due to the budget to get The Great Lakes Avengers instead and has to make due with Flatman, Grasshopper, Doorman and Big Bertha *Wiki searches Great Lakes Avengers.* {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}

On the issue of taking kids to see this I really don't understand why everyones kicking up a fuss.
They probably hear worse swearing on the playgrounds/from their parents.
Any jokes about adult themes will go over their heads.
As for the violence its not real and any good parent will raise children who are mature enough to differentiate make believe violence and real life.
It's the parents call at the end of the day, no one else has the right to judge them on their decision to take their child to a movie.

Man, kids today got it easy! In my day, if you wanted to see an R rated movie, you had to get two friends, an overcoat and wait for the comically underpaid teenage stereotype to start selling tickets!
Now you can get in just by going with mom or dad?
This world is too easy!

People are still ignorant about comics, video games and animation and what happens in them and dismiss it as kids stuff.

I have never met one person that has watched a recent Marvel or DC trailer and said..."Well...that's just dumb kid's stuff like them old 60's shows..." My brother, who is 24, considers all comic book movies "dumb kid's stuff" on the same level as the likes of Batman '66. I think the last such movie he watched was Batman & Robin, which he often cites to prove his point. He can understand why our niece and nephew enjoy Marvel movies, but not why I do. And yet, he's one of the biggest Star Wars nerds I know.

Just came back from seeing it myself. After the first 15 minutes or so that felt like I was watching the trailer over and over again, it turned in to a freakin' blast. Ryan Reynolds was born to play this character.

Just a friendly reminder, International Women's Day is March 8th. That should be an interesting day on social media!
Between Deadpool and the Macaulay Culkin animated series The Wish Kid it turns out people named Francis really hate their f***ing names.
Here's an interview Ryan Reynolds did on Opie with Jim Norton.
(language warning)
Edit: Listening to Ryan Reynolds talk about the eleven year process it took to get Deadpool made, the dude earned his producer credit. Because when I saw his name listed as a producer in the opening credits. I was s bit skeptical. I figured it was just a token title in order to get some more money on the back end. But he did a lot more than the cliché of a Hollywood star who just attaches his name to someone's script just to feel like a big man by having something in development.

This is why when I worked in Electronics at Walmart, when this happened, I would explain to the parent what the rating means and why the game has that rating. Lead to a number of dirty looks from the kids that were denied the game by their parents, but I felt it was the right thing to do.

This movie does need to have a kid friendly cut, Deadpool style.
With the DVD/Blu Ray releases, they should do a TV version style edit where Deadpool replaces bad language with like the most ridiculous word possible, and nudity cover up by Deadpool faces.
If any character can pull a stunt like that, the Deadpool character can.

This, or like Howard Stern's tv edit of Private Parts. Including cutaways to Deadpool in a studio explaining exactly what was cut out.

Finally got around to seeing the movie today. It had like twenty minutes of previews in front of it. When I saw The Force Awakens at Christmas it only had two previews so I was kinda surprised to get so many. The movie was awesome, not much more I can say then that. And forget Cable for the sequel, I want a Negasonic Teenage Warhead movie. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}I hope Bob lived. I want Bob to appear again.

Look at the shitstorm the dumb Behind The Trailer girl tried to cause for this movie so that Fox would make a PG-13 cut for kids to go with their parents. That woman even WROTE for Marvel. There are plenty of people that don't understand, apparently Marvel Comics doesn't have an issue hiring them either.

I'd love to see him interact with Dr Doom and rib his previous appearances much to his chagrin
