Am i the only one who, when watching a tv show or a movie set in a certain time period, nitpick it when you see a historical error? For example, i didnt care much for Hot Tub Time Machine, but there were several things when they got to 1986 that were historically inaccurate, such as Salt N Pepa's "Push It" (1987) being played in the background of one scene. Then there's The Goldbergs, and i've given up trying to make sense of the anachronisms on THAT show (ie, American Gladiators being around the same time as the 1984 election, showing the Berlin Wall coming down in an episode taking place in April).

I always thought Goldbergs got away with it by just being set in 1980-something, and playing fast and loose with exact time frames.
Then again, no, I usually am not that nit-picky on stuff.

I have with the Goldbergs-I think this is a thing now, TV shows just say the 80s and everything that decade takes place.
With season 2, ironically enough, it's basically 1989 and almost the end of the 80s

In episode 2F09, when Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib twice in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a magic xylophone or something? Boy, I really hope somebody go fired for that blunder.
