There needs to be some sort of built in delay that wrestlers can toggle on their accounts so when they post something they have 3 hours to realize it was a bad idea and remove it before it actually goes live where everyone sees it. Oh, if only they hadn't fired that completely racist social media manager! THIS IS ALL BERDO'S FAULT!

She is nearing AJ Lee Summer 2012 territory with her character recently.

Responding to fans critiquing her character on the internet this way probably ruined her character more than the WWE did.

If I was a WWE star (especially a female), I'd block all those cornballs too. Wouldn't phrase it like this though when you are supposed to be a loveable babyface on TV.

If anyone could actually explain what the point of this angle is for any of the people involved, then maybe there wouldn't be so many haters.
As far as I can tell, it's turning Lana into a Diva Droid, making Ziggler seem even more obnoxious and douchey, and making Rusev look like a weakling who can't do anything without Lana. So who is it for? Summer Rae? To give her a few minutes of TV a week? Oh, well big success, then.

Reading Instagrams of females is mostly people saying they're hot, asking them for sex, and being creepy to the level of Buffalo Bill. She should just not read the messages left period.

Social media is an art form. You need a thick skin, a sense of humor and the ability to not stoop to the level of crazy that is the norm for twitter/instagram.
A lot of people criticising how Lana is booked are actually fans of hers, who want better for her so she's kinda missing the mark here. When you start calling your own fans haters and start blocking them, you need to step away from social media and find another hobby.

If anything, they ruined Rusev's character. He went from an ass kicking brute to sitting on the ground pouting cause he lost his girl. It's just a really shitty angle. Take Lana and throw her together with trying to hard to be metal Dolph Ziggler. Have them awkwardly make out immediately so the fans can feel sympathic toward Rusev, the limping boyfriend. Oh yeah, here's Summer Rae out of the shadows of Oblivion. Summer: "Talk tough to me, Rusev. I looooove tough guys!" *Goes around backstage and bumps into Renee Young.* Summer: "I ran into the Authority not long ago. Annoying people!" Renee: "Well at least Kane's slow, and J&J are not too bright. Stephanie's a bitch, though." Summer: "Goodbye." Renee: "Goodbye."

I do feel for her.
It has to suck to have such a radical change done to a character you've been largely successful with and uncertain if the other shoe is going to drop because of it. Both in the sense of the fans losing interest in you and the sociopaths in the back that are booking you.

Eh she probably just blocked so many people were probably asking why you block me so she made a statement. Meh I don't see the problem really. It's her social media account and she can block anyone she wants. She's probably sick and tired of hearing everyone saying it because she's doing her job even if she may agree with it. Could she have phrased it better? Yeah of course? Was it really embarrassing TNA's levels of bad? f*** no. Not even close

Instances like this are where it seems we're putting celebrities on a pedestal, no regular schmuck would get trounced on near as badly for blocking people on a silly Twitter account for their own personal reasons.

That isn't what happened though. People are mocking her for making a stupid comment about it. Not about blocking. Lots of people block...lots of people. I have 10 people on here or so blocked. She even realized it was a stupid comment and apparently deleted it. If you want to say "Well people that post online occasionally say something stupid". That would be fair enough. Even so, when your livelihood is on those social media accounts and your presumed fans are looking at them it's time to use your brain and know what and what not to say. If I had a social media account and my coworkers and boss were following me, it probably wouldn't be a good idea for me to say a bunch of stupid shit on there since it would negatively affect my job. Same mentality applies here. In this case it's fans, not people she works with of course. But it's her livelihood to appeal to them, especially as a face.

They should have kept her as the pro-Russian heel. All her social media accounts should have been in-character. No deviation at all. It would have been nice to see someone at least try to maintain kayfabe these days.

It's rule #1 of the internet not to feed the trolls. You don't need to put someone on a pedestal to expect them to follow it. Block people all you want, but don't make some dumb announcement about it, and don't make comments about your "character" while breaking kayfabe. Clearly she also realized she screwed up, hence the quick delete.
