RAW is live from the shadows of Chicago - Rosemont, IL at Allstate Arena. It's two days removed from The Beast In The East, and two monsters are heading from Tokyo to Chicago pissed off, for different reasons.
The first of these is Brock Lesnar. Two weeks ago, The Beast Incarnate was taken out by the newly dubbed "United Authority", headed by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Lesnar channeled his anger towards The Beast In The East, where he destroyed Kofi Kingston, and then the rest of The New Day. Now he's coming full bore towards Rollins and the title, as they're set to meet at Battleground on July 19th. Is there anything Rollins and the United Authority can do to stop Lesnar from his rampage? And as for J&J Security, I wouldn't be too attached to their new Cadillac with Brock around...
The other pissed off monster is Kevin Owens, as the prize he originally boasted about that started his whole rivalry with John Cena, the NXT Championship, is now no longer his, as Finn Bálor defeated him for the title in Tokyo. Owens' new focus is Cena's United States Championship, which Cena was very close to losing last week, when Cesaro had him in the Sharpshooter. Owens interfered to preserve Cena's title, only because he wanted to be the one to win it. Will Cena hold another US Title Open Challenge, how will Owens react to his loss at the weekend, and will Cesaro react in any way to being screwed out of the US Title?
Back to Rollins, and two other people still gunning for him are his former brothers in The Shield, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. Whilst Ambrose has no other distractions, the same cannot be said for The Big Dog, with Bray Wyatt continuing to lurk. Last week, after he left Reigns vunerable to an attack by The United Authority, Wyatt pounced on Reigns to complete his misery. Will Reigns gain any kind of retribution heading into Battleground?
The Miz is the interesting part of the three way Intercontinental Title puzzle involving himself, The Big Show, and IC Champion Ryback. As The Big Guy and The World's Largest Athlete trade blows, Miz looks to pick the bones, though he got himself counted out against Ryback in a singles match last week. What's in the Hollywood star's playbook this week, or will size play its part?
It was a mixed week in Paige's campaign to overthrow Team Bella. Last week on RAW, Paige gained her first win since these problems emerged, albeit over Brie and Nikki's affiliate, Alicia Fox. But then in Tokyo, Paige had an opportunity to defeat Nikki for the Divas Title, and she was unsuccessful, although she wasn't pinned, with Tamina dropping the decision. Will Paige make any further breakthroughs, or will Nikki continue to strengthen on her Road to 300?
All this and more from 8/7c on USA, and after the show, switch over to the WWE Network as various WWE Superstars, Legends and Hall of Famers get together for a live discussion and stories about the career and life of the late American Dream Dusty Rhodes.
