Titus probably knows that there is a glass ceiling he won't ever get through, so go for it.

It sure is. But that doesn't really matter as it's not Titus' job. He is a wrestler and was out there to promote PTP's rivalry with New Day. It was JBL's job to commentate and he was doing poorly at it. He got called out and when he started acting an ass Titus decided to step up. And all in between reading JBL for filth. No it's not. That what we WANT his job to be. The job his boss wants him to do, the boss the director of the show wants him to do is thr "ha ha Maggle" crap he does week after week. If it wasn't he would be gone by now. But he's not. You know who was pulled from commentary? Regal. Why? Because he called matches and that's not what they want. That's not why Regal stopped doing commentary at all.

That was beautiful.
Titus fumbled and stumbled at the start but JBL talking about other stuff really lit a fire under his ass. I mean damn. And for those saying he distracted from the match- he called the action, put over the Lucha Dragons as exciting talented youngsters, put over New Day as intelligent and dangerous in numbers, and put over himself & Darren. And REALLY put himself over JBL by shutting down everything he said. The only thing Titus' commentary didn't accomplish was talking about the Seth Rollins angle, and frankly- we just saw that. We don't need to be reminded of what happened 5 minutes ago.
Never saw much in Titus before but after that I am swung on him, dude has hella personality and can talk. He wasn't a world-class commentator but damn does he know how to put over what's happening better than JBL. And frankly if JBL's job is to talk about anything but what's happening, then what's happening is filler and thus it's all a waste of time. Just have 5 mins of JBL & Cole sat there nattering if that's what they want.
Knowing how Vince likes guys to stand up for themselves that might just have impressed him too. Or backfired, since this is Vince and he's not exactly predictable.

He earned the respect of Vince McMahon by murking JBL on commentary. Vince loves alpha male domination and that was a classic case of.

On your first day with WWE, you should challenge Vince to a shoot fight. Even if you lose, he'll always like you.

I have a feeling Vince McMahon invited Titus to see his Bear Skin Rug backstage immediately. What's the story behind that anyway? Apparently the rumour of the story is that when Vince McMahon likes you and is ready to push you, he'll invite you over to his house and one of the things he demands is to wrestle him on his bear skin rug.

I'm seeing a lot of defending of JBL in this thread. This dude used to molest guys in the showers and shove toothbrushes up their asses. I think some verbal bullying from Titus is fair play.

Wait, we're not supposed to support that? Then what the hell was that whole initation ritual thing from the mods about?

Basically I think it is a perfect example of JBL being called out and he backed off. I think JBL has calmed down over the past few years due to retirement but probably sometimes thinks he is legit bad ass. Titus just Steve Blackman'ed him with words not feet

I figure Vince let this go cause he was laughing too much behind the scene at what was happening.
It felt like Titus was auditioning for JBL's job saying "this is how it's done".

They're defending him doing his job that Vince asks him to do, NOT his hazing. When HHH or someone else is in control JBL can do great commentary too. There was an house show Smackdown that got broadcast not too long ago that both him and Cole did great on. Like Creative, the blame lies on Vince and his producer cronies.

I wish I could have seen this. I don't watch much RAW and one of the reasons why is JBL.

Yes, I appreciate. Sure, JBL is just doing his job but seeing that get some blowback is still funny.

This is amazing. I think my favorite part is that even Cole seems more interested in calling the action in the ring than talking about that damn Cadillac, so JBL was all alone getting his ass handed to him. Titus O'Neil put that wood on him, and it was well deserved.

What was the match where Xavier Woods was on commentary (shortly after he debuted on Raw) and JBL was trying to rag on him over and over for being a nerd and doing a PHD and Xavier said he was studying so he could help sick kids or something and JBL suddenly started endorsing it?

And the great thing is, Titus plays along at the beginning. JBL makes a joke about the Cadillac right before the bell rings, and Titus is right there with him. It's when JBL goes off ignoring the match that Titus goes off, and it's beautiful to watch.
