Do you.....do you think he still thinks about us? It's not us, it's him.

I'm sure he does but he admitted he was so burnt out and bitter towards the end of his rum he just wants nothing to do with wrestling right now.
He also talked about he doesn't want promoters to use his name right now to get a cheap payday that the wrestlers won't see a dime of.

Yes, and he'll be back. He's just waiting for Hunter to call him with a big enough number for few enough dates. The MMA nonsense is just to keep himself and his name relevant. Otherwise, we'd be talking about "Phil Brooks' excursion into MMA", not CM Punk's.

I'm still unconvinced that we'll ever see Punk actually debut in UFC or if he does, it'll be a couple fights just so he can try and get a Brock Lesnar-type deal with WWE. Not saying that Punk shouldn't do something that he wants to do, but his debut's already been pushed back to "sometime 2016" and the whole thing is rarely talked about.

I think he realized he wrote a check that his "WWE destroyed" body can't cash, so now he's just doing his best to keep his name out there.

Maybe not miss the WWE specifically, but do you think he still appreciates THIS BUSINESS and is a fan? Like the working/performing part of it and putting on great matches? Pro wrestling has proven to be a warm, affectionate virus that attacks some of the all time greats throughout history :') It makes no difference to me if UW hated wrestling or if Connery hated playing 007 (eventually) , you can still enjoy it.

If he gets knocked out in MMA, I'm sure he'll begin to show his appreciation once he wants back in again. I don't think that's going to happen. Dana's his buddy and will make sure all of his opponents are certified tomato cans. To be fair, its not like he should be put in against anyone who is top 10. He is a rookie with no prior combat experience. Brock Lesnar was the exception not the rule. Punk knows his own level.

I'm sure Punk would probably appreciate a match at Sumo Hall vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.
Don't know about how much he'd appreciate Mr. COO Hunter again.

Do you.....do you think he still thinks about us? Yes, he watches wrestling while eating a bowl of ice cream, with some Pepsi at his side, lamenting that "That could be me facing Owens, or Rusev. Dammit Dolph, you're starting to make me like The Miz more than you, honest to God, The Miz!" I don't think that's going to happen. Dana's his buddy and will make sure all of his opponents are certified tomato cans. To be fair, its not like he should be put in against anyone who is top 10. He is a rookie with no prior combat experience. Brock Lesnar was the exception not the rule. Punk knows his own level. His own level would be nobody in UFC.

No fighter in MMA should be having their first competitive fight in the UFC. But it is what it is, and people keep saying that guys like Lawler and Diaz would smoke him as of that's some major accomplishment. He should be fighting a guy who has two to four pro fights tops. But I agree that he should be fighting in a minor league. But he didn't push the UFC to sign him, Dana White was the one who got this done. You know for a fact had he gone to Bellator, Dana wouldve sneered all the way in his usual hypocritical BS fashion.

Punk needs to learn to be humble, he's a hot novelty right now for the UFC but after a few fights and a few probably losses the novelty will wear off, he'll eventually be cut in 4-5 years and then if his movie career or comic book career hasn't exploded by then he'll be forced as somebody who yearns for attention to return to the WWE.

I assume Punk was humble enough until they sent him his papers on his wedding day and put a lawsuit on him for supposed fabrications of his staph infection

I got the impression that he appreciated wrestling, hated sports entertainment, but really didn't want much to do with either right now.

Hasn't he shown up backstage at a few ROH shows? I imagine the dude still likes wrestling, but he just doesn't want to be doing it himself anymore. At least for a while.
