Maybe not miss the WWE specifically, but do you think he still appreciates THIS BUSINESS and is a fan? Like the working/performing part of it and putting on great matches? Pro wrestling has proven to be a warm, affectionate virus that attacks some of the all time greats throughout history :')

He probably still does but given his wwe exit he probably wants nothing to do with it right now. It put so much pain and stress on him he wants to stay away from it entirely for a bit.

Probably more than he admits publicly.

Of course he does. He'll be back in some capacity, don't worry. The dude is just burned out and wants to do some other things in his life for a while. I took years off of some of the things I loved before coming back to them (wrestling being one of them), and I've known many others who did the same.

If you love wrestling like punk does, you never stop

I am almost positive he has talked about it in interviews in the last few months. He doesn't hate wrestling, just WWE. There was a lot of talk of certain promoters trying to at the very least have him and Joe sit down for an interview and autograph session, if not even an actual match before Joe signed with WWE.

If he gets knocked out in MMA, I'm sure he'll begin to show his appreciation once he wants back in again.

IIRC, he sounded fairly positive on the Cabana podcast when he talked about riding together to indy shows early in his career, sleeping in the car etc, and how that was wrestling to him. Not that I'd think that he wants to do that again today, but wasn't exactly "Wrestling sucks!"

I imagine he does, I'm not following what he's up to with his MMA training, but I know he's said things that would upset wrestling fans, but are meant to endure him to the UFC crowd. I really think exclusive UFC fans are bigger marks than any WWE fan, but Ii'm biased as a wrestling fan.

In that Colt Cabana podcast, he said something along the lines if any promoter wants to hook me and The Young Bucks in a match I'll do it for free. I know he's joking but he seems to be aware of some things. Plus dude did it for half of his life, including being in the indies for nearly a decade. Like I'm sure he hated the politics, working hurt, and the extreme toil it put on his body and not wrestling itself.

I think, at this point, it's probably a bittersweet love for him. He was a good mind and talent but was beaten down by the system when he achieved what most, if not all, wrestlers strive for and I can see where he'd be jaded after that. I do have to wonder if he's ever seen how NXT is evolving and the talent being brought in and thought, even for a nano-second, about giving it another go. The problem is that I doubt he'd want to return to a full-time WWE schedule but if he does the part time thing, he's become one of the things he complained about. Which also leads me to wonder if part of his refusal to come back will just be his stubbornness and pride.
That said, and this is WAY out there, but could you imagine the buzz he'd create for a company like NJPW or ROH if he decided to wrestle again, just not for WWE?

Most of the people I know real well, stopped watching UFC, but once in a while someone will ask if I watch or whatever and go, "No, no, no, dude. They REALLY hate each other. Did you see the weigh-in? I can't wait to see this fight!!" As a wrestling fan, I know it's a total work, up to the fight, that's real, but everything else, is such a work.

I still think we're going to all wake up one morning and hear an amazing story about Punk showing up at a tiny Chicago indie show the night before to work a 60 minute match with or against Colt as his final match. Just seems like the type of thing he'd want to do -- would make for an amazing story for any fan that happened to be there that night.

I'm sure Punk still likes wrestling, but there seems to be an awful lot of mending bridges that would have to happen before we ever see Punk in WWE. I mean, clearly the the past couple of years with Bruno Sammartino and Ultimate Warrior being inducted into the HOF and Sting debuting in WWE have shown that they can make anything happen if they want to. At the very least, it'd be nice if HHH and Punk could work things out.

Sometimes people just don't want to be in the WWE anymore. It's fine.

I think he was burnt out on it but still has an appreciation.
On the AOW podcast he even said if HHH would have called him or waited till after his wedding he probably would have returned at some point.

When I started working in the entertainment industry I wanted nothing more than to work on big budget, feature films. I worked hard. I played the politics game. I was the guy people wanted to work with. I finally got my big break and rode that for three years into job after job after job. I hated most of that three years. I worked too damn hard in a field I loved to be that miserable. Luckily, I was given a chance to change areas of film production. I moved from on-set work to post-production. I got to jump in between huge projects and quiet indie stuff and found I loved the small stuff way more than the big stuff. I made the choice to stop doing the high budget stuff so that I could enjoy my life and my wife wouldn't kill me.
Occasionally, I think I'd like to go back and sometimes I even miss it because I worked so hard to get there. But I'll never go back.
I suspect Punk feels that way about the WWE and wrestling in general.

It made him filthy f***in rich.
if he doesnt appreciate the life he has not and the opportunities he has, because of wrestling, hes a dick.
