The message behind this match and the whole feud is:
Cena was getting bored because of the lack of credible opponents. Then Rusev, Cesaro and Owens came in, put on the matchs of their lives (ihopethewweuniverseislookingrightknowhowgoodarethoseguysandtheatlheticismladyandgents) and Good Ol Cena had to step up his game and go back to his former great self to fight the hungry young guys.
It was hard, but at the end of the day Cena DESTROYED Cesaro and made Owens AND Rusev TAP OUT LIKE THE LITTLE BITCHES they are.
They're good, but they're not ready brother, Cena is still THE man.

My theory is, Cesaro accidentally screwed over Owens. HHH watched those matches and decided the rub was better for another guy.

To be fair, Owens is popular and just damn good enough that no-one will give a shit that he lost.
Maybe this is a new dawn of people tapping and it not being completely asinine.
Also, as I said in another thread, he's a heel, so yeah he tapped. Owens has spent most of his WWE career only fighting people who aren't on his level.
edit: And to put this into perspective, most people don't even beat Cena ONCE.
Owens pinned Cena clean, in his first match. Damien Sandow assaulted him for half an hour, ripped off his arm, ate it, shat it back out and rubbed it in Cena's face before the bell even rang, and Cena STILL pinned him.

People are badly overreacting over this. While I can understand people concerned over Owens tapping out, the real question is where they go moving forward. If Cena comes out tommorow trying to start a "Tap, Owens, tap" chant and acting like this match was a big joke, okay. Then again it could drive Owens completely nuts, he beats the living crap out of Cena and it takes the feud to another level.
The real question is who and when does Cena drop the belt? Whoever wins the US title now, gets a massive rub and if it's a younger unestablished talent it could all be worth it. I seriously doubt they are doing all of this for the Big Show to beat him.
Point is, people really need to relax and wait to see where this is going. If Owens jobs to Ryder in a dark match tonight, alright most of you were right and justified. But I don't see this being as doom and gloom as most.

Let's see... The match was annoying. Move-kickout-move-kickout, ad nauseum. However, when KO kicked out of the top rope AA, I thought we'd see something out of Cena. Like he hits the ref, or gets a weapon and goes apeshit on Owens. SOMETHING. But no, STF, KO taps. Which was an absolute bullshit decision. He should've passed out in the hold, if anything. They had JUST got KO over as someone who will never say die, then they have him tap to a hold no one ever taps to anymore. Stupid stupid stupid. No hyperbole. That is the definition of hyperbole. Hyperbole means overstatement. Your overstatement of the facts as you see it which I disagree with you on & many do too, because you've got no crystal ball, you don't know what's next for Kevin Owens. So you need to quit while you're ahead. And take your hyperbole to the other threads where you can complain to your hearts content. There was no hyperbole in that at all. I didn't say Kevin Owens' career is over, or that John Cena is the worst human being alive. I feel it was a bad decision, and laid out why. If hyperbole means disagreeing with you, well I guess that's hyperbole. btw you would make more sense if this was your thread

The finish made me sad. I did not like it and it depressed me as a wrestling fan who watched this event in the hopes of seeing Owens win the title.
Life moves on. Other things will continue to make me happy and sad in the future to lesser and greater extents.
No hyperbole. Just my reaction.
