Raw comes to us live from Kansas City this week, where we witness the aftermath of a third-annual disappointing Battleground PPV! Not only will we see the fallout from last night but tonight also starts us on the road to NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn Field of Honor Ultimo Lucha G1 Climax Finals SummerSlam!
Last night at Battleground, the Undertaker made his return to WWE for the first time since WrestleMania, where he cost Brock Lesnar the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! Why has he decided now to get his retribution? Well he was gonna do it at WrestleMania but then some nobody in a fedora kept talking shit to him, so he had to sort all of that out. Now the Deadman is back to challenge the man he lost to cleanly a year ago and it's gonna rock!
You know what else rocks? Watching Big Match John himself, John Cena overcome the odds in a grueling match against Kevin Owens. It was a long, draw-out spotfest that would make Rodrick Strong go "Whoa, chillout dudes," yet Cena was able to use all of his technical prowess to get Owens to tap out to the most lethal submission move in all of wrestling, the STF. Cena stands before us as still the United States Championship but contenders such as Cesaro & Rusev still lurk behind him. Who will step up to the plate in another edition of John Cena's US Open Challenge?
In a summer as hot as this one, it's only getting even warmer with how the Divas Division has been heating up in the past week! After the iconic and supreme Stephanie McMahon graced us with her presence last week, newcomers Charlotte, Becky Lynch, & Sasha Banks have taken the WWE Universe by storm. The gang wars of the new factions in the divas division are sure to become even more lethal as we head out to SummerSlam. Who will face Nikki Bella for her Divas Championship? Paige? Charlotte? Sasha? Becky? Tamina Snuka? (As if)
Bray Wyatt won a match last night, so expect him to job at SummerSlam to someone that'll show up 3 times this year. Maybe it'll be the King of Kings, Triple H. Maybe it'll be the Vigilante, Sting. Hell, maybe they'll throw a curveball and have him face Disco Inferno. He's got the same chance of beating all three of them. But hey, he's got Luke Harper again! All we need now are Rowan, Seth, Ambrose, & Reigns and we can still pretend that Elimination Chamber 2014 never ended.
Plus, Seth Rollins is still your WWE World Heavyweight Champion! Brock Lesnar is once again occupied with Undertaker, so someone new must step up to the plate to face him for the title at SummerSlam? Will it be Roman Reigns? Dean Ambrose? A returning Dolph Ziggler? Neville? Ha, nah it's gonna be Kane.
Also: the Prime Time Players in action! More New Day shenanigans! Another Barrett/R-Truth match probably! Randy Orton and Sheamus doing something! An Authority promo! A Big Show face turn! More desperate attempts to get the ratings over 3.0!
And remember, if every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs.
