Hopefully not; the guy's doing better and given the spot he's in right now, there's no reason to shit on him.
He's right where he should be.

As someone who likes Reigns and has been trying to go to SummerSlam, I'll say this. Reigns is going to get a horrible reaction at SummerSlam, but not entirely because its New York. SummerSlam tickets were essentially not available to the general public. They technically were but with some caveats. The majority of the tickets were sold via presales on Ticketmaster that most people did not know about, you could only buy 2 tickets maximum, and sold out almost immediately. No casual fan will have gotten a ticket via this. The rest of the tickets sold out in under a second the day they came out due to there be so little left (as well as bots I'm assuming). So most tickets either ended up in the hands of the really hardcore fans OR on second hand markets like StubHub. The tickets on StubHub are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. Most tickets are being put up for 3 times the value and have not gone down a dime since tickets went on sale. No casual fan is going to spend three hundred, nor family is going to spend thousands of dollars to sit in the nosebleeds to watch SummerSlam. Now you may think that I'm just assuming things, but to my understanding this is exactly what happened with the Royal Rumble tickets. Considering how that crowd was that night, I have no doubt that SummerSlam will be similar. It's unfortunate too because Reigns has definitely been winning people over, but there are still some parts of the country that will refuse to accept him out of principle. I think he COULD win over New York, but given the actual landscape of WHO will be at the show, it won't happen at SummerSlam. I guess will see what happens re: Reigns, but I still can't believe general sale had no tickets, and I spent $300 on 2 seats for this show. From now on I'm presale presale presale. Technically it wasn't zero tickets, but they sold out within seconds if you used Ticketmaster. The only people I know who got non-presale or resale tickets bought them directly at the Barclays Center the day they went on sale. If you look at Stubhub right now, no one in their right mind would pay that much to go to SummerSlam unless they were a REALLY hardcore fan or rich.

The guy, and people like him, who got popular making the gesture last night when he made his entrance is now who I'm going to assume the anti Reigns crowd is exclusively made up of.

I think Reigns is going the Ryback route where he was overpushed and the fans rejected him but slowly yet surely, he's gaining their support back. Losing to Bray (who I personally like but will admit is booked poorly) helps definitely gain sympathy for him from some of the vocal "he's overpushed" crowd.

Reigns could have been as big as WWE envisioned he could be but due to there own hand they messed this guys career really bad. Can he be salvaged yeah of course however the damage has been done.

I think the hate train has departed on Reigns. Its still "cooler" to hate him than like him, but hes not smark hitler any more

If {Spoiler}Sting ends up teaming with Reigns and Ambrose as rumored at Summerslam, WWE is probably hoping that will ease the crowd's negative response.

I don't think he's going to get shit on. He's just not going to be cheered that much. I'm tired of faces being no fun.

I don't even see why there is Reigns hate. He isn't even being pushed down our throats. Actually, he kinda loses and chokes a lot now. What did the poor guy even do to continue to get booed? Crowds are wiser to the business than they used to be. Roman was anointed as the chosen one, and Rollins was used as a get-out clause because the Mania main event was already set and nothing got Roman over enough, and fans are just waiting for Roman to start getting pushed to the top again, despite his being green. When you know the office is behind a guy regardless of your opinion as fans, it kind of sours you on him. Reigns can continue being booked like this for the next two years of winning some matches and losing the big matches while improving steadily in the ring and Ambrose and Rollins being multiple time WWE Champions and people will complain he's being overpushed and shoved down our throats when he gets a big push again. The Daniel Bryan stuff kinda killed him for me. I say this a lot, but I wanna like Reigns, but WWE isn't letting me I'm having the same problem. Roman has always seemed pretty disingenuous to me, and when he got the rocket strapped to him over countless guys the fans liked more I was not at all on board - now that he's just upper midcarding it, even though he's losing, what I'm left with is a talent that I'm just not very interested in.
