I'll gladly thank Steph for her part in signing these women and giving them an opportunity to showcase their talents on a larger stage than they had been.
Past that, she can go away sooner rather than later.

Ok, what was the story behind this? That's from the 2013 Raw before the Cena/Orton WWE/WHC unification match, with all the former champions in the ring. The portion of that that the gif comes from isn't included in the clip.

Ok, what was the story behind this? Like kidglov3s said, it's from the WWE Championship ceremony before TLC 2013. From what I remember, Steph was hyping HHH up as one of the greatest champions of all time, which led to that reaction.

It remembers me that one time when she was driving that huge Abrams 60 tons US army Tank and Triple H was standing on the tank and they invaded WCW's Starrcade and put them out of business on the same night. Steph is an history changer, like Teddy Roosevelt or Abraham Lincoln. So you're saying either Stephanie McMahon is a statue that comes to life at night by Egyptian curse, or she's a vampire hunter

Yeah, I consider myself a pretty ardent feminist, but the huge issues here is are that Stephanie has never before done anything to "empower" the women on the roster, that even in this otherwise positive situation she's still pretty clearly trying to make it about herself, and how so much of what she does or says traces back to her incredibly sheltered, privileged upbringing in a multi-million dollar family that has shielded her from ever facing consequences in her life. Combine that with her public Tweets about using philanthropy as good PR (yeah, I know that's usually what it's been used for, regardless), and she just comes across very phony.
I'd kind of like to give her the benefit of the doubt; I mean, she has two daughters, maybe her worldview has shifted as they've grown. But taking the credit after it was these women and the NXT infrastructure that did the work to build themselves up would be like giving Lyndon Johnson all the credit for the 1964 Civil Rights Act ever happening...like, yes, he was in a position of power and was vital in getting the law itself through, but the law never would've even been up for discussion without the actions of the people on the ground. Obviously, that's a much more widely consequential moment in history than bringing up some of the NXT women, but the focus should be on those who did most of the heavy lifting to even make this possible, and that would be the talent themselves.

As transparent as this whole thing is, in the short term, it's probably better for the Divas, that Stephanie has her name attached to this "revolution". Because it lessens the change that Vince wakes up one morning and decided he's tired of the whole thing. Then it's back to 7 minutes a week.
And the sad thing is, there's still a good change that will happen, eventually. I'm sure WWE PR are contacting things like HuffPost, and trying to sell this new dawn, with Steph as the sun, for women in WWE. And after those articles are written, or God forbid, never written at all, we'll be right back to the status quo.

I am so glad CM Punk is gone so he's not dealing with this bullshit anymore. But that was probably the last night CM Punk had fun in the WWE. Here is a video of him in his briefs doing a spinaroonie and hugging Stephanie McMahon later the same night www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVI7ChE1xSA

But just imagine him being around the last year and a half, and how much he would've been hating life. Things are actually worse right now than when he left, especially pertaining to the reasons he was fed up outside of his personal injuries.

Stephanie McMahon deserves about as much credit for the divas division and Dixie Carter deserves for the Knockout division.

Stephanie McMahon deserves about as much credit for the divas division and Dixie Carter deserves for the Knockout division. At least Stephanie beats out Dixie in terms of having an actual measure of competency at her job.
