...what?
How is that your pitch?
Fairly sure it used to be "Just like Netflix, only better", which sounded petty as f***, but at least it made a claim.
On its own "Just like Netflix and Hulu" is not a statement of value. USP's here people!
If you said "It's the Netflix of Sports Entertainment", then you're at least telling why I'd be interested in it over Netflix or Hulu.

I've been trying to watch Orange is the New Black and House of Cards on the WWE Network ever since Michael Cole told me it's just like Netflix, but I can't seem to find them on there. Maybe I should call them and ask...

I wouldn't be surprised if WWE knew the Network couldn't really compete with Netflix or Hulu so it's just trying to settle with "We're just like them!". It's still crazy to me how WWE has this massive library of content and they still don't really know how to market it or even what their fanbase is. Stop trying to be like Netflix and Hulu; it's not happening. People are not dumb enough that Michael Cole saying "It's just like Hulu and Netflix" is going to make them say "Y'know what? I have Netflix and love it, why not sign up for WWE Network since it's just like it!".

Netflix and Hulu are streaming services. WWE network is a streaming service. Yeah there are similarities in how they deliver content so why is this really a problem or are we just looking for things to bitch about because there's enough without nitpicking

I thought it was a weird thing to say at first but its an easy way to describe what it is. If you say "Its just like Netflix but with WWE content," you know exactly what it is. The funny thing about it I thought was that they were claiming to be like Netflix and Hulu when they were extremely slow/crashing when it first started and was nowhere near Netflix quality.

isn't Hulu a sponsor? can't really knock it by saying your service is better than them. it's also awkward to say "WWE Network: It's better than Netflix and just like Hulu"

Do something, anything to differentiate yourself from the competition. It's terrible marketing.

I think they meant "like Netflix and Hulu" as in you get a month for free when you subscribe.

Wouldn't they need movies to be just like Netflix? I don't even think their original movies are on there.

It's really nothing like Netflix. Netflix lets you rewind without getting stuck or having to rebuffer forever; Netflix lets you rent out DVDs and Blu-Rays; Netflix is only 8.99 a month;(At least for the basic two stream plan, I believe. ) Netflix is extremely easy to sign back up for when you cancel; Netflix has a lot more variety in content.
So really the similarities are quite minor between the two.

Maybe I should call them and ask... Do NOT enter that circle of hell. I got the network around the time they were doing the "Just like Netflix only better" bit, and it simply would not work for more than 45 seconds at a time. I called the network, they ran me around for about 30 minutes before I lost it and quoted the claim and explained how Netflix worked perfectly for me AND didn't come with a lengthy commitment. The rep said 'We don't really mean that. We mean our programming is better'. After they blamed my internet speed and everything else under the sun,and I spoke with at least 4 people for a total of roughly 4 hours... I logged out for a few days then when I logged back in it worked just fine and has ever since.

I think they just wanted to make sure people knew it was an on-demand catalog of content, and not a traditional cable network. That may sound obvious, but I bet the WWE and cable companies were fielding a ton of phone calls about what number channel the WWE Network was and wondering why they couldn't find it on Direct TV.
