Anyone see this?
Some straight up, unveiled WWE bashing going on there.
I'm talking about the TV show, not the podcast, which is why it's kind of suprising, you'd think TV networks wouldn't want to ruffle any feathers.

What's the scoop on this? I didn't hear about it. So Marc Maron has this IFC show. If I remember correctly Punk was on it before. This week Colt Cabana was on and convinces Maron he needs to get in shape, so they call Punk, hilarious training sessions ensue, but not before multiple remarks about Punk casting of the shackles of WWE, getting fired on his wedding day, etc., etc. I expect that from a podcast but was a little suprised to see it in a half hour comedy, even if it is in the Louis CK vein of pseudo-reality.

Hey Punk & Friends, we get it. You don't like WWE. Quit acting like the bitter ex in all of this and just move on.

What I liked was Colt saying that if you're interesting, WWE doesn't have interest in hiring you. Nah Colt. Your gimmick is beyond played out and they've signed far better wrestlers over the last few years than you.
The whole thing was crazy salty from Punk & Punk's Friend.

I don't really understand why Punk's still so upset about the whole "fired on his wedding day" thing. By that point, he'd be gone from WWE for months and missed WrestleMania. If he was on the fence about coming back, he should've talked to someone and tried working stuff out. If not, then fine. The timing sucked, but it's not like they'd just keep him employed forever.

Yeah its stuff like this that makes him come off petty and bitter. Granted he completely has reason for his anger and ill feelings toward the WWE, but this just seems to be bitterness for bitterness sake.

There's more money to be made in UFC w/ Punk still playing up the "still bitter at WWE" angle.

Colt Cabana doesn't really have much of a gimmick anyways. He just shows up, does some lame comedy spots and then moves on the next show. He's very much the idea of an eternal indy guy.

Wow, you guys are really bitter about Punk. I just assume that the stuff Punk has specifically complained about is really a tip of the iceberg thing, and just the beginning of all the bullshit he had to deal with. He has every right to be bitter, and I don't really get the backlash against him. Though for his sake, re: the lawsuit, I hope the stuff he said about the doctor is actually true.

Wow, you guys are really bitter about Punk. People seem to be bitter about either Punk or Cena anymore. It's the norm. Give it 5 years, there will be a new flavor of the month to be bitter about.

Wow, you guys are really bitter about Punk. I think a lot of people are hostile to anyone fighting with WWE because it's the wrestling promotion. It doesn't matter how many employees they alienate and underpay. It doesn't matter if they're morally and ethically backwards. It doesn't matter how disingenuous a lot of their activities are. Punk's a douchebag so any of his statements and activities should just be brushed away, amirite? Punk is speaking out against them and is apparently one of the few people around who actually may have a leg to stand on while doing so. I couldn't care less if he's bitter, or a prick, or anything else. It doesn't invalidate anything that he's claimed. I can't stand Punk sometimes and I wish he'd shut up about a lot of things, but this? No, this is pretty important.

Fair point, I just don't see Vince/HHH going through all of that effort to time a termination notice just because Punk didn't want to be there. That seems excessively spiteful. Timing of the termination notice aside, I agree that Punk has a lot of valid points regarding WWE. It's awful that they try rushing people back when they're injured and have this environment where guys have to work injured just to keep their spot on the card. If Punk's allegations regarding the doctor are true (which is hard to dispute considering how many people have probably seen Punk's cyst), then they absolutely deserve to be punished, both in court and publicly.
