www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKnH6_GG4rgThis is the entrance I mentionned. What a heel. From the War To Settle The Score. I think everybody that wants to have a small Piper memorial night should watch this, amongst others. The War To Settle The Score was definitively one of the peaks of wrestling, in terms of popularity. BIG, HUGE fight atmosphere. And shockingly, neither it nor the Brawl to Settle It All are on the Network yet. War at least should be added now in tribute, plus given how big it was leading to Mania.

Watching the Piper DVD. Rhonda Rousey asked Roddy if he was cool with her using the "Rowdy" nickname, and he was totally okay with it. I'm still not okay with this news, I'm struggling not to break down right now. He's a hero from my area

Which brings us to this question, how many straining are they gonna have to do to honour Piper, yet pretend they've never heard of any Hulk Hogan?

Unless they completely ignore 1984 through 1986, plus his WCW run, it can't be done. There is no Piper as ultimate heel without Hogan and there is no Hogan as defined good without Piper. It's peanut butter and jelly, they are wonderful separate but no magic unless combined. Damn, if they were not in such close proximity, Piper might be pulling off the ultimate save in death - saving Hogan's ass.

I think this wrestling death has hit me more than many others because i've listened regularly to Piper on his podcasts over the past year.
It somehow makes the passing much more real than many of the others.

It's been said famously elsewhere, more or less, but I think it's fitting for Piper:
Death had to take him sleeping, because if Piper had been awake there'd been a hell of a fight.

Facts are facts and they can't really talk about Piper without talking about Hulk and maybe even bringing him in to say a few words.

A Piper match that I loved, is from Wrestlemaia 12 (I think, but I could be wrong), vs. Goldy in the Backlot Brawl. It was so entertaining. He really had a swagger that you just don't forget. What a shame. It makes me so sad.

Listening to this song got all of my sadness out of me. Waterworks galore listening to that beautiful song. RIP Roddy. BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if they start RAW on Monday with a condensed version of this.

This one hurts a lot. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was one of the few guys who could make you love him if he wanted to or make you hate him if he wanted to. He was in an elite class on the mic and a tremendously entertaining performer in the ring. Seeing his wrestling personality made it easy to see why he made it in Hollywood. He was one of my favorites. He inspired a lot of wrestlers who have come after him but none of them will be another Roddy Piper. You can try but you'll never duplicate a legend like Roddy. RIP Hot Rod

It keeps hitting me over and over again that we now live in a world without Savage, Warrior, Dusty, and Piper. Such a heartbreaking fact.

I remembering replaying this over and over a few months ago when Leonard Nimoy passed away. Now hearing this again is more heartbreaking.

After savage passed away I truly said I wanted to see piper at a horror convention in Indianapolis because you never know when they could go. But I guess I didnt truly believe that and I never went and hes gone so damn suddenly.
Hot rod.....one of the best of all time and someone who revoltionized the sport. Maybe as influential as hogan.

It really feels like bizarro world when WWE's gonna have to dance around racist Hulk Hogan to honor Roddy Piper. Like someone winning the lottery and giving Scrooge McDuck a loan.

My wife broke the news to me through a text at work. I was floored. I didn't even know he was sick (not meant as a joke). He was my number one favorite of that era. When I was a kid, all the little Hulkamaniacs were saying their prayers and taking their vitamins, I was a little Piper fan. He and Skeletor were responsible for my love of villains and heels. Many were the days when I was a kid that Skeletor and my LJN Piper figure would conquer Castle Greyskull together with no retribution from the good guys.
You were the greatest. RIP, Hot Rod.

Or rather Hogan chose a really inconvenient time to be in a controversy (even if it was 8 years ago) Even the recently passed get screwed by the Hulkster.
