Anyone ever been referred to as a "wasian"? I figured with all these race threads going, why not.
I've been called a wasian before, but then I was told it's not really a bad thing, I just kinda am.
Hey, I just like their food, their language, their television, movies, anime, games, music...and...food?

It can be a bad thing.
There are some people who are really disgusted by the notion of their culutre being co-opted by the western world. Especially when they believe that they have no genuine appreciation or understanding outside of it being entertaining.
And I can't say that I don't understand. Back when I was deep off into anime the number of people who identified themselves as "otaku" and then proved to be insanely ignorant about Japanese culture were staggering. And it's only grown. There's a notion amongst these people that Japan is basically the world's biggest anime and game store- a view some Japanese absolutely detest.

Yeah, that's understandable, I dig their history and culture as well, they have some of the coolest things in the history books imo, but yeah, I don't really think I'm quite on that "annoying" level with it, I never plan to move there and I don't worship the ground the place resides on, I just like a lot of their stuff, basically.

I love Japanese culture and history, and Chinese as well. Never heard the term though.
