Well I agree making him boring was dumb, Lace storm the wrestler would never make money. It was just a bad attempt at giving him character.
Lance Storm as a good will ambassador from Canada who tries to get Amaricans to cheer, but always messes up, would be good.

Imagine if it had been HHH instead of Steve Austin.

You know who should have gotten the "boring" gimmick? In like 1995 they brought in this blonde guy from WCW and gave him like an American blue blood gimmick. His matches and promos were so dull. Lots of guys were boring back then. They paired this scrub with Ted Dibiase as his hand picked ring master. If Dibiase can't get you over, I'm sorry, you're boring.

Didnt they do the same thing with Steve Blackman? The point of Head Cheese was Al Snow was trying to give Blackman a personality.

In kayfabe, it shouldn't matter how "entertaining" a wrestler is. This times a zillion. The only time I can I can think of when it worked was CM Punk's shoot, because it bent kayfabe just enough for him to basically say he's the best performer and he's not getting pushed because of political bs. And that only worked because it was a worked-shoot (marks).
