Didn't annoy me but Punk reign did get a little long in the tooth. I think they would of gave Ryback a run if Rocky wasn't looming at Royal Rumble. Yeah, it kinda got depressing the longer it went on, you basically knew CM Punk was just keeping the belt warm for Dwayne. I was a huge Punk fan (still am I guess), but I think I'd rather have seen him do something productive without the belt rather than killing time with it. I want to add Rey Mysterio in 2006. The whole thing was built on exploiting Eddie, it was clear they didn't really want him as champion and weren't going to book him properly as a champion (I think Rey as a "giant killer" champion would have been pretty cool). I was relieved when the inevitable Chavo heel turn happened and Rey lost the belt to King Booker. And I HATED King Booker. That should tell you my thoughts on Rey as World (Heavyweight) Champion. Again, I was a huge Rey mark, but they managed to make me dislike him being champion. I liked his IC title reigns & feud with Chris Jericho much more.

The current Reign of Seth Rollins - that has reached "Old Yeller" levels, Cena called him and the title worthless on Raw in a promo similar to the one that he cut on CM Punk in 2012, but while CM Punk could legit say that Cena was full of crap, Cena was actually right about Rollins. A champion should not be booked as poorly as that.
Jeff Hardy with the TNA World Championship in 2012-2013 - he should never have taken it off Austin Aries and it was way too soon after Victory Road 2011.
Many of Randy Ortons runs from 2008 onwards, but there were two that stood out for me. There was the run of 2011 when he was the face in a feud with Christian, who had exactly the type of run that you would expect a guy that Vince wanted to put a blue dot over his face to be given. Given that Christian Cage was an awesome champion in TNA as both heel and face, the title runs in 2011 were just awful. I couldn't wait to see Orton lose that title and shut the seagulls up.
The second was the run of 2013-2014, which was one of the weakest booked title runs in recent memory. Orton looked so weak and played second fiddle to Triple H as the world champion, and lost to Kofi Kingston clean.

The matches between him and Jericho during that time have been forgotten for how good they were. Mysterio has always been a mixed bag for me but he sells merch and you can't fight those facts. I don't like how they gave him the WWE title for 5 mins in order to lose it to Cena though. Yea, i'm a big Rocky fan but the title reign in itself should of ended with Ryback but people would of been crying and moaning back then. In hindsight the match should of been a triple threat between Cena, Rock, and Punk at Mania for the belt. However, with Punk I think he's type of guy who rather kept the title because it gave him something to do. I mean the guy kinda but no complained about a match with Taker at Mania.

Prince Iaukea's WCW TV title reign from Feb-March of 97. Im serious. Can you tell me more about that? Well its like this. The TV title until Iaukea had been held by legit upper mid card and main eventers. I mean sure, Tom Zenk and Bobby Eaton held it, but they were both long standing tag team specialists who were branching into singles competition, so it made sense for them to compete for it. The Renegade held it prior to Iaukea too, but that was when WCW lost its creative mind and was trying to get the kid over like Warrior. It was a mistake for sure, but in hindsight we can see why they did it. Even as a teenager I could see what was goin on. But besides them? That belt was for top guys who weren't doing the World title scene. Its a whos who of JCP/WCW all stars. Dusty, Muta, Luger, Steamboat, Sting et al. It even made sense when Anderson put a stranglehold on it, using the time limit to stretch out his run. Sure, a Rotunda or Rick Steiner snuck in here or there, but that made sense too. Their gimmick was amateur wrestler extraordinairre gone pro. As cool as the nWo and Nitro were getting in 97, Saturday Night on TBS was like a living fossil, preserving that charm that early/mid 90's WCW did so well. And the Television title was used to make sure viewers got to see a top or up and coming talent showcased every week. Look at Lord Steven Regal. You watched his matches and he looked like he belonged with these guys. The guys that came after Iaukea had it too. Ultimo Dragon was a newer Muta, Benoit, Jericho and Booker T all held it after. But Prince Iaukea? f*** that. Speaking purely from a perspecitive of the times, the guy was a jobber. And not a jobber on Nitro, but a jobber on Saturday Night and Worldwide. His only wins were against other jobbers. His win was like if the Lightning Kid beat Razor Ramon for a belt. Underdog wins are fine and all, but this kid not only beat a polished and well showcased Regal, but preceded to beat him in both rematches instead of getting his ass rightfully kicked in. Now for an excruciating 6 weeks we had to look forward to this douche headlining the Saturday Night main event. Its not even like he was featured on Nitro during his reign. Ya he eventually had his The Artist Formerly...gimmick, but WCW basically said "Ya, this jobber is your World TV champ right now. But who really cares, nobody watches WCW on TBS anymore, its all about Nitro, TNT, and the nWo!" Yes, what WCW later did to the TV title was criminal. But Iaukea was the first chink in its armor. I insta marked when Ultimo went over and ended it.

Miz as wwe champ. Besides the fact that miz wasn't a main event talent in the ring, you had Cole screaming over the other announcers and other matches. I stopped watching RAW until he was removed from the main event scene.
Triple h during the reign of terror.... Soured me on wrestling until 2007.

Hunter's Reign of Terror from 2002-2004 (I know it wasn't unbroken) and JBL's were like cold, slow death to me. That are the definite stand-outs that come to mind.

JBL edges Triple H in my eyes. At least Hunter belonged in the Main Event. I think Rollins' current reign is a lot like Bradshaw's. They're even connected in a way. " How the heck did JBL get by Undertaker?" "How the heck did Rollins retain against Brock?!?"

I'm gonna cosign on everyone saying Jarrett as NWA/TNA Champ. You had several guys who were so damn ready, and they never got a run. Monty Brown should have been a five time champ, but Jarrett's everlasting reigns meant he never got the opportunity to truly shine.

Kurt Angle in 2015 with the TNA Title. Bobby Roode had his first face World Title win, and it was cut short thanks to DA requesting that Kurt Angle be champion, despite Angle being one bad bump away from a wheelchair. The match that Roode lost the title in was massively overbooked and featured a nonsensical heel turn by Eric Young - who had a title reign the previous year that I also couldn't wait to see end, as it was a plain copy of the D-Bry story.
It was sad to see Angle go out there and destroy himself further, and some of the matches had appaling finishes (such as the Austin Aries feast or fired World Title match). I was relived when Angle finally lost the title, and I hope he retires rather than risking any more damage to his already battered body.

As a kid, I wished ANYBODY would beat the Macho Man for the I-C belt. Weird thing was that it was Steamboat, a guy I really didn't care about until Jake gave him that DDT on the floor.
