Played Nethack before, but never got too into it, but I reckon I should give it a spin again. Won in Angband, but died a whole lot more before getting the win. Currently playing ADOM, which is so far quite fun. Lots of dying there as well. Haven't played Rogue before.
So, anyone else been playing roguelikes, old or new?

I've been playing this Tale of Maj'Eyal game for a few days now. It's fun. ToME's nice. Nice and hard since you can't really level grind without risk. Unlocking the adventurer class is neat in making a mishmash of skills. Had one that always regenerated, and another that had permanent shields. Engi B hard mode. Crew not full, mostly Engi and one Zoltan, ship far from max upgrade; three shields only, and I had to depower some systems to make the three shields up and running. And I got a win from that. I got mad skillz.

I've been getting into rogue-likes over the past few years. Probably the one I got into most was Binding of Isaac:Rebirth. Managed to get all the achievements in it as well, which was NOT easy at all
Rogue Legacy was another good one, and Crypt of the Necrodancer is an amazing experience. I'm also planning on picking up Nuclear Throne at some point which I've heard is pretty good as well.

Here's some free roguelikes that I recommend
DoomRL: It's Doom, as a roguelike. Infra Arcana: Lovecraft-themed, has a sanity meter that prevents you from staying on one floor for too long. Cataclysm DDA: Zombie survival, with quite a lot of focus on survival. Unreal World: roguelike set in Finland during the iron age.

Shattered Planet is a fun one, especially if you're new to Roguelikes. It's a great entry-level game that really gets you used to the basic idea of what a Roguelike is. But even if you're familiar with them, it's got a decent sense of humor and a nice aesthetic, and is generally pretty fun to play.
Beyond that, I definitely play a lot of Rogue Legacy. That game is absurdly addicting.
I could never get into the old-school ASCII based Roguelikes though. I wish I could, but there's just not enough personality there for me.

Galak-Z just came out and it is super ass rad. It is Robotech basically.
Then we have Ziggurat. First person sorcery like Hexan or Heretic, but fast as all hell.
