RAW is live tonight from Everett, Washington... or "Seattle" as they'll have you believe, with two weeks to go until the biggest SummerSlam in years on August 23rd.
With the likelihood that we won't be seeing Brock Lesnar or The Undertaker tonight, the focus is on the rivalry between WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and WWE United States Champion John Cena. Two weeks ago, Rollins broke Cena's nose to the point that Cena needed emergency surgery to correct his breathing, and last week, Rollins challenged Cena to a Title vs. Title match at SummerSlam. The match isn't official yet, as Cena hasn't responded. Will Cena return tonight to make it official?
Tonight's show features a special guest - "Arrow" star Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen, aka the hooded vigilante Arrow. In recent months, Amell has been involved in various disputes, both at shows and online, with Stardust, and last week saw Stardust call Amell out. He's now got what he wanted, but Stardust also has an issue with Neville, could he get involved to help Amell out?
On SmackDown, the postponed Triple Threat WWE Intercontinental Title match between champion Ryback, The Big Show and The Miz was made official for SummerSlam, so WWE appears confident that The Big Guy will recover in time from the staph infection that severely swelled up his right knee. With that obvious target in mind, will Ryback be on the show tonight, and will Miz and/or Show go after it?
It's been weird times in the WWE Divas Division. Last week on RAW, Charlotte made WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella tap out in the Figure 8 during a tag team match, and we thought a new Number One Contender had been made. But then on SmackDown, in one of the stranger WWE matches of recent times, Charlotte was pinned clean by Naomi in another tag team match. And not just this - what will Charlotte's group with Becky Lynch and Paige be called this week, after their previous name ended up being too similar to one used in porn? Will any sense be made of all this tonight?
At SummerSlam, a big tag rivalry from last year will resume, albeit without two of its participants, as two former members of The Shield, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, will face the Wyatt Family's Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. The Shield/Wyatts matches of 2014 were among the great matches of recent WWE history, will this build up to be any of the same?
All this, plus Cesaro/Kevin Owens, Rusev, Lana and Summer Rae, the tag division, all sorts of stuff... tonight from 8/7c on USA!
