Time for the companion thread.
I know it led to the best Horsemen combo work-wise, but didn't Lex prove that Barry could trust him? AND they won the world tag team titles...so in kayfabe, Windham was giving up half of a world title to join the Horsemen. Yes he got the US title out of the deal, but still, he was doing just fine as Luger's partner.

Seth Rollins.
The Shield beat Evolution twice. Why would Seth abandon the people who proved they could beat Triple H to join him?

Seth Rollins. The Shield beat Evolution twice. Why would Seth abandon the people who proved they could beat Triple H to join him? That's an easy one. The Shield could beat Evolution/The Authority all night long but Trips and co. would still be in charge. In kayfabe, Seth also thinks he was the biggest reason the Shield was successful anyway, so why fight against the machine when you can join it?

Andre turning on Hogan in the buildup to Wrestlemania 3. The guy's been undefeated for 15 years and has the respect of everyone in the WWF (kayfabe). If he asked straight up for a title shot, he would've gotten it easily.

The Freebirds on the von Erichs. For one, David helped them win the 6-man titles that night, and was willing to allow Buddy Roberts to have the belt. Then, I get Hayes being annoyed at Kerry for not taking advantage, but when Flair knocked Kerry into Hayes and out of the cage on the floor, how did Gordy not know what happened?

I hate to be pedantic, but the overwhelming majority of heel turns are unjustified, which is why the justified ones are such rarities.

The Giant back to the nWo in 1998. These guys had kicked him out, broken his neck, and tried to put him out of wrestling on numerous occasions.
And then he rejoins them because I'm still mad at Nash and I wanted the money....I guess....

If he asked straight up for a title shot, he would've gotten it easily. But it makes sense, though. Say you work at a job and they never offer you a raise, you find another employer that will start you off at a higher salary, and NOW your current employer offers you araise. Only because you had another offer. Why did you have to go through all that for them to give you a raise? Why couldn't they be straight and give you one without all the political bs? Same thing with Hogan. Why couldn't he offer Andre a title shot, knowing how he was the top guy in wrestling? Why did he ignore him and get upset when Andre dared to side with someone that was actually looking out for Andres best interest?

I can understand being sympathetic to Andre for getting that tiny trophy, but Heenan always was a snake oil salesman who was only looking out for his own paycheck and was blatantly using Andre's jealousy to get himself closer to the title. The fact that Andre was aware of Heenan's true intentions, but still sided with him anyway is what made him the heel, not because he had a gripe with the fact that he never got a title match.

If Heenan could get the title in the Heenan Family and get a higher pay check, why not?
