The show Cena and Lesnar return on gets a low rating for the first time in weeks. Huh.

In this show's defense, a good chunk of the potential fanbase was taken by WCW Nitro.

So re-runs of matches and barely any story development doesn't bring in the viewers?
I knew the show was not gonna be great when we opened with Orton/Sheamus. I knew it would suck by the time we reached Henry/Rusev for the third straight week.

It's down when Authority and Cena return. Nothing against Cena besides some of his character traits but that tells you something. The ratings were alright the last two weeks without both and then both show up and ratings go down.

It just goes to show that even big name superstars don't have a huge impact in the ratings. WWE needs to do a complete overhaul on how they run Raw if they want those 4 million+ viewers they used to get.

There are such minor differences in ratings from week to week lately I can't really read much into it outside of "standard deviation"
Quarter hours usually tell a better story if you're willing to look at them and then also use logic to consider why the ratings might be that way.
Good match after 25 minutes of bad promos gets bad rating, it's probably because people shut off because they were sick of the promos.
Cena segment lost viewers? That doesn't mean people are tuning out for Cena, it might mean he was facing the wrong opponent, or there was no build, or it was 2 1/2 hours into the show and people were tapping out. Or maybe it even was Cena this time.
Of course anything involving using your brain is going to crash and burn in 2015.

Spoiler for next week: They are going to get an average somewhere around 3.9 to 3.95 million viewers, and then people are going to say that The Authority, or Cena, or Sheamus, or whoever, are obviously draws.

I don't know where people have ever gotten the idea that John Cena is a TV ratings draw.
I'm not saying he actively turns people away but he doesn't really move the needle either way. Cena's strengths are with live event ticket sales and merchandise sales.
Those are the reasons WWE keeps him at the top.

Some dudes in my neighborhood were having a football game in their backyard that day.
Ratings will be through the roof next week.
