Since we are less than five hours away from SummerSlam, I was curious what you guys have as your favorite SummerSlam match? My favorite is Bret Hart vs Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam 1991 for the IC title.

Bret vs. Bulldog, '92.
Little snugglecakes was there in person, and I still vividly remember everything about that day, even now.
Great match, with an electric crowd. Doesn't get much better IMO.

That match will always be one of the all-time classics. I love the ending and the subsequent handshake/hugs at the end of the show. BTW, this is a stupid question, but how loud was that crowd in Wembley?

The two answers I had were Bret v Perfect and Bret v Bulldog. Both classics and cemented Hart as one of the greatest. Amazingly in 94 he also had a classic against Owen and in 93 faced Doink and then Lawler straight after in other good matches. Add in the 89 and 90 Harts matches and you have why Bret is Mr Summerslam But if I had to choose one I'd go for 91 v Perfect

Bryan vs. Cena. Ignoring the crap that followed, it was an incredible match and put Bryan over huge. I hadn't marked that hard since I was a kid.

I paid to see Cena vs Bryan and wasn't disappointed until after the match.

Along with all the Bret Hart greatness, CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar was f***ing awesome.

We were pretty loud for everyone (I say we, I was six at the time and genuinely fell asleep during the Tatanka - Berserker match), even Crush got a decent pop. The Savage-Warrior match and main event were amazing though, especially when Davey won. Had to cover my ears at one point, got a bit freaked out. My Dad saw Queen at Wembley in '86, and he said that SummerSlam was just as loud at some points! Not sure if he's just humouring me though!

Bret vs Bulldog.
As a young fan at the time, I loved British Bulldog because he was from my country. I loved the fact that this huge WWF event was being held in my country. But as I watched the match, I somehow found myself not wanting either man to lose because Bret was so great. But then it was all okay in the end, because they hugged it out.
It's still a great match to watch, with excellent storytelling and the emotional pull of two men who were family reduced to fighting one another.
Bret vs Perfect took place just before I was able to watch wrestling, so I didn't see it until some years later. It's a great match, but doesn't quite have the emotional resonance, even though Bret and Perfect are two of my all-time favourite wrestlers.

Edge vs. Undertaker in Hell in a Cell was amazing and a fantastic end to the rivalry they had.

Bret vs bulldog
Quite possibly my first pure "mark out" moment as I was a huge bulldog fan as a kid
Bret vs Perfect is definitely runner up

Even though it didn't have a clean finish, Austin v Angle at Summerslam 2001. Those two had so much chemistry together.
