WWE completes its three day residency at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn tonight for a huge RAW that seeks to resolve some major issues that went down at last night's SummerSlam.
The record books show that The Undertaker finally defeated his bogey opponent, Brock Lesnar on PPV with the Hells Gate... but the timekeeper at ringside exposed him. Lesnar had Taker in the Kimura Lock, and the bell was rung. Referee Charles Robinson told the timekeeper to restart the match, as in his viewpoint, he had only made a one count on Lesnar. In reality, the timekeeper had seen The Undertaker tap out. Whether it was his call to make is another issue entirely. In the distraction, Undertaker low blowed Lesnar and made him pass out. So will we have a furious Lesnar in Brooklyn tonight, and will Taker admit to being fortunate, or will he brag about his win like Paul Heyman did about WrestleMania XXX?
We have a new WWE United States Champion... thanks to Jon Stewart of all people. Whether the former Daily Show host is a hero to fans now or a villain is up to debate, the fact is that he entered the ring during John Cena's fantastic bout with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, and smacked Cena in the ribs with a steel chair, allowing Rollins to become a double champion. Will Rollins get the statue he was promised tonight, and will Stewart be on RAW tonight to explain his actions? If he is, he better be careful of Cena's wrath...
We have new WWE Tag Team Champions, as The New Day regained their titles with victory over the Prime Time Players, Los Matadores and the Lucha Dragons. We can only imagine the party Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will have tonight. Also, Ryback held onto the Intercontinental Title by pinning The Miz, though thanks to The Big Show's knockout punch, so there's still an issue there.
Compared to Saturday's classic at NXT Takeover between Sasha Banks and Bayley, last night's Diva Revolution trios match didn't set the world on fire, but it did result in Team PCB coming out on top, with Becky Lynch scoring the decisive pinfall on Brie Bella. With Nikki Bella coming up on the record reign for the WWE Divas Championship, a challenger will surely have to emerge soon - will it be Lynch after last night?
In other SummerSlam results, Kevin Owens got by Cesaro in an intense battle a day removed from a gruelling ladder match, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns defeated Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper, the team of Neville and Stephen Amell bested King Barrett and Stardust, Sheamus got the best of Randy Orton to keep their series going, and Dolph Ziggler and Rusev went to a double count out, largely due to the hatred between Lana and Summer Rae.
There's been rumours that something huge will go down tonight, possibly with hints towards WrestleMania XXXII in Dallas, so check out RAW from 8/7c on USA to see it for yourself!
