I try to avoid searching for odd things. After accidentally finding some 'adult baby' porn that totally creeped me out, I'm worried about finding more shit that can't be unseen....

When I was a teenager, I stumbled on www.findadeath.com/ and didn't sleep well for a night or two.

A photo of a disgusting bloody mess that used to be the head of Kurt Cobain.
Wish I could bleach that from my memory,

Does a good five minutes on Tumblr count as deep into the internet?

Not me, but I've seen other people watching Isis Beheadings, that's some shit I really don't need to be seeing.

Apart from Fanfic? (Like the one where Cthulhu gets it on with Hogwarts. The school. Yeah, you read that right baby) Generally some of the crazy stuff that shows up on RationalWiki. Like the Time Cube, which I only recently discovered, and apparently he just lost his lease to the name. So here I guess, for more info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Cuberationalwiki.org/wiki/Time_Cube

When all the Jimmy Savile stuff was going down, I was reading about the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) and stumbled onto a blog with scans of their old newsletters. Pretty much expected the Internet Police to knock on the door ETA - They didn't include photos or anything. It was more like flowery descriptions, like Lolita. Creeeepy.

I don't know if it's me being pedantic but I always get annoyed when people refer to the Tor network, let alone sites easily available on regular browsers that are merely obscure, as "the Deep Web", if only because it leads to all sorts of rather silly urban legends.
The Deep Web is actually just stuff that isn't indexed on any search engine and is mostly just data that websites need to work but wouldn't want everyone to be allowed to access. And because there's a lot of such data, from a technical point of view, if you very much oversimplify things, it does contain most of the Internet. But to give you an idea of how ridiculous the quasi-mythical nature people try to give to the deep web, have you ever logged in on a website that doesn't allow people to view their forums unless they register? Congratulations, you've been on the deep web.
A lot of people also get it confused with the Dark Web, which is basically a parallel web that requires special browsers such as Tor to view (and contrary to popular belief, isn't anonymous at all). Now there IS some creepy shit there; black market, hitmen, terrorists and infamously, child pornography.
And so due to confusion and a desire to make everything more dramatic than it is, some people completely mixed the two in their head and came to the conclusion that 99% of the Internet is made of murderers and child rapists who are operating right under other people's noses, as if only 1% of the population wasn't awful or something.
As for creepiest stuff I've found, probably gore sites. I mean, who the f*** gets their jollies off from looking at pictures of actual corpses?!
There's also those two videos of a creepy old guy, one of them being just him laughing and the other being (I think) him playing music or something. What makes it particularly creepy is that there are many hints that he could be the culprit in an unsolved disappearance case as his username and videos make several references to the case, some of which are waaaaayyyy too specific to be a coincidence. Oh and when the guy was finally identified, it turned out he had been in trouble in the past for threatening to murder a family member. However, the cops couldn't find any evidence linking him to the disappearance.

I've been lucky enough not to stumble upon gory shit on the web too often. And I've never gone out of my way to see that sort of thing because I don't have a perverse need to watch it.
Creepiest thing I've ever stumbled upon is revenge porn. Just the concept of it creeps me out.

When I was 12 years old I was on a site called Ebaums World where I found a video about ghost sightings that had a pop up screamer at the end, it had the most terrifying scream that I have ever heard in my life. I was home alone and watching it with the light off as well.
