WWE wouldn't know what to do with a top bilingual star even if they got their hands on one. They made a guy like Del Rio, who was amazing at house shows and in all the other promotions he wrestled for, a complete non-factor due to thier poor writing (destinydestinydestinyperrodesintyperrodestiny) and handling of him. The only way WWE would really handle a bilingual star is if Vince bought Cena a Rosetta Stone: Spanish edition. Juan Cena. "You can't si me!" Daniel Bryan: "We'll see about that!"

Alberto "Fired for Standing Up For Himself To A Racist Employee" Del Rio returning to the company that wrongfully terminated him? Quite a stretch. No, it's Alberto "Fired for assaulting a coworker that even he agrees was something he should have been fired over" Del Rio. Dude he hit was a racist asshole by all accounts but that doesn't give you the right to assault them. He didn't throw him to the ground and pummel him. He asked for an apology, the guy instead got smug with him, and he slapped the taste out of his mouth. I think it's a fair receipt for racism. I manage a store in the mall, and if this same incident happened between my employees, I would not fire the slapper. They'd get a verbal warning and the racist would be fired. People get too hung up on "physical assault". Sometimes a slap is just a slap.

So, Big N, Big a, Big m, and Big s are all set to make their debut soon and team up with Big E? ...Let's see who gets the joke, as poorly conceived as it is. This could be the most revolutionary finish to a match ever. New Day are on the verge of losing the titles and suddenly Big E's relatives just start swarming the ring until the match is awkwardly called off.

If I was in ADR's position, I probably would have done the same thing but he still has to pay the consequences for his actions. Besides, dude seems happier in Mexico than he ever did in WWE so it kinda worked out for the best anyway.

This is a profession where guys get in fist fights backstage and keep their jobs, and Del Rio got fired for a slap.

I'm sure Kalisto is due a big push but they're probably using up Hunico until his contract is up. That's my thinking as well, Kalisto is getting the rub as the star/showman of that team. Plays sympathetic babyface like a champ. (But they really need to figure out the whole title situation first. I'm not sticking Kalisto out there unless there's a chance of him winning a title long-term.)

Well, we've already had Mexican gardeners, and Puerto Rican bullfighters, plenty of hispanic gangster types, a Puerto Rican ninja for some reason, and whatever Kerwin White was. Any offensive stereotypes left? Maybe they can come to the ring pushing an elote cart? Soccer players? Maybe make them Telenovela actors, and all of their backstage vignettes are filmed like a soap opera? Alberto del Rio was already a character from a Telenovela

The Matadores are fine as they are. They are the Killer Bees of modern day WWE. A jobber team. They don't need to be much more.

He admits he lost his cool and acted unprofessionally and deserved to lose his job for the outburst, even if he was in the right. The only reason I could ever see him coming back would be to pay a favour to Vince, as ADR has nothing but great words for Vince. Seems like he and Triple H don't get along at all.

I still don't know why they didn't make Los Matadores ironic heels who were blatantly just Primo and Epico trying to get the fans to like them with wacky antics while still being assholes. The vignettes seemed to be firmly pointing at that idea then... nothing.

I always wondered why they didn't continue the trio of Hunico and the colons as of course it was stereotypical but they did fit the part and I thought it had potential.

Would love for it to just be Epico and Primo again. Don't know where that leaves Torito.

When I read about Los Matadores being repackaged with either a completely new gimmick or an updated version of their current gimmick, I imagined an update on their current gimmick would mean that they would become Cyberpunk Matadores.

At this point, what big Latin American stars would touch the WWE after the way they botched Mistico (They share as much blame for the failure of Sin Cara as he does) and treated Alberto Del Rio and his kin? They can try to manufacture one, I suppose, but I'm not sure that would be all that effective if they're going to select based on looks and size rather than ability. But that also ties to the bigger problem on the other side- the big Latin American stars would end up like Mistico there. Mistico had all the tools to succeed, but Sin Cara failed because he refused to improve or learn, and there's so many differences between American style and Mexican style that you need to be able to learn the style (a reason Alberto Del Rio succeeded for so long- he went to developmental without problem- and even then, Dos Caras Jr. had a really maligned rudo turn in Mexico that napalmed his stock before he jumped to WWE.) It's likely the same catch-22: It's nearly impossible to find someone who's a big enough star in Mexico, at their peak, who'll also happily jump to WWE and go to NXT to learn the craft and accommodate the American style (witness how Kalisto, a Mexican-American who spent most of his career in the US, is tapped as "the next one.")
