It's Labor Day in the United States, so while many of us will be lighting up the grill and enjoying a day off, things will be heating up in Baltimore on Monday Night Raw. We learned last week that not only will Seth Rollins defend his title against "The Vigilante" Sting at Night of Champions, he will also be defending his United States championship against John Cena on the same night. In addition to that, the two icons have planted dissension between Seth Rollins and The Authority, with Cena forcing Stephanie McMahon's hand in granting his rematch request and Sting insinuating that Seth is not as good of a champion as Triple H. Seth Rollins has a long road ahead of him if he plans on leaving Night of Champions with both of his titles (and a third challenger may await clutching a golden briefcase). Will Seth find a way to keep all of his gold, and what about his missing bronze?
Seth Rollins is not the only champion with double challengers. Ever since The New Day regained their Tag Team Titles, both the Dudley Boyz and the Prime Time Players have kept close proximity of the champions. The PTPs still have an outstanding rematch clause, but last week the Dudleys beat The New Day and the PTPs on Raw and Smackdown respectively. Will we find out who will get the next crack at the champs, and what does the multi-talented Xavier Woods have in store for us this week?
While some people on this show have double challengers to worry about, Dolph Ziggler has potentially has two women on his plate. After another inconclusive match with Rusev on Raw, Summer Rae was seen entering the Show Off's locker room. Several segments later, Summer was chased out of the room by Ziggler clad in only a towel. While many found Summer Rae's side of the story suspicious (if not contradictory), people are also questioning the rather long timeframe she was in Ziggler's locker room as well. Either way, the incident has strained the relationship between Dolph Ziggler and Lana as seen on Smackdown's Miz TV segment. And what does Summer's current flame and Lana's ex, Rusev, have to say about all of this?
Speaking of the Divas, last week the members of Team PCB competed in the first ever Divas' Beat the Clock challenge to find out which member of the group will challenge for Nikki Bella's Divas' Title. After a controversial ending in Paige's match, Charlotte was declared the winner and is currently slated to receive her shot at Night of Champions. However, the challenger has requested that she receive her match before the event. This is because Nikki Bella will break AJ Lee's record as the longest reigning Divas' Champion if she survives next week's Raw. Will Nikki Bella accept Charlotte's request for a sooner title shot, or will she take a shortcut on her Road to 300?
Also signed for Night of Champions is a six-man tag team match featuring the Wyatt Family and the remnants of The Shield, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. Ever since the Wyatts introduced Braun Strowman into the mix, the Wyatts have had a major edge in this rivalry. Will Reigns and Ambrose be able to find a third man to counteract the Black Sheep tonight, or will they continue to be outmatched against Bray Wyatt's clan of miscreants?
Lastly, Ryback continues to impress as Intercontinental champion, turning back the challenge of The Big Show thanks to a distraction from The Miz. We know that all main roster titles will be defended at Night of Champions, so who will emerge as The Big Guy's challenger?
All this and the #SaveTheTables campaign, live on USA Network at 8PM EDT, with the Raw pre-show featuring Stanford, Otunga, and Graves at 7:30 PM on WWE Network. Following Raw, be sure to tune back into the Network for a Stone Cold podcast with Edge and Christian. The thread that reeks of awesomeness will be here!
