It's not something I'd be opposed to. NXT has differentiated itself from the main roster in many ways, making effective use of managers would be just one more. While it's not like there is a huge need for managers in NXT, there are definitely a few that could benefit from it. I recall seeing a suggestion that once TNA is officially done that James Storm might make a decent manager character. And I've said before that I could see Truth Martini fitting well in NXT, though he probably wouldn't be willing to break with ROH. And since he seems better at portraying characters than he is in the ring, maybe transitioning Damien Sandow to a manager would be a more productive use for him.

I was thinking earlier that R Truth would be a good hype man style manager when he stops actively wresting

Instead of using managers, let NXT wrestlers tweak their characters and give them definition ala Bray Wyatt. If they can't buy into their own character, how can they convince others? Plus those who struggle with promos spend more time working on that with veteran promo people like Brian James. If they still struggle, hope they have enough body charisma and showmanship to overcome that flaw. Because even a great manager/hypeman can't sell a turd if it's devoid of character and value.

I'm all for more managers, but don't like the idea of active wrestlers being forced into non-wrestling roles if they're still physically able, so no to the Sandow/James Storm ideas.

It could be pretty cool in a kayfabe sense, for years managers have just turned up with their new charge but we could actually see them take a rookie under the wing and get them ready for the big time.

Managers have more uses than just talking. A manager adds an extra dynamic to a wrestlers character and more potential outcomes to a match. It also can give a wrestler some rub if a manager is portrayed as seeing them as worth having as a client.

It helps if the manager is a perfect fit for said wrestler and magnify the overall presentation. Just giving someone a manager won't save an act.

Hetman might have worked for at least Cesaro if they hadn't booked him like a total goober while he was with Heyman.

Cesaro didn't work because he was just the stand in for Brock since he was on very limited dates. Cesaro just did the same thing he was doing before Heyman except this time he stood quietly while Paul sang Brock's praises. They could paired Paul with Swagger and got the same result. The list of wrestlers who failed with Paul is a lot longer than ones who were successful.

The last wrestler/manager pairing was Rusev and Lana. Which goes to having a manager magnifying the act not just being a body standing on the outside.

She is their mouth piece and seems to be the driving force behind the operation. She is still wrestling of course, and gets more physically involved than most managers so its weird manager/valet/stable mate grey area.

Managers are only meaningful in the jobber era imo.
I'd be fine with managers back but managers back mean time for them to talk which means shorter matches which means jobber squashes which means less feud time which means less PPVs to space those feuds out.
Since we're not going to have less PPVs everything else is irrelevant.

Alexa Bliss is the only thing to look forward to when Blake and Murphy come out. They're good enough to be employed and to be on TV and all that, but I just can't get all that interested in them.

Sylvester LeFort was a great manager, I don't know why they keep losing him in the shuffle when he was a fine partner to Marcus Louis and a good manager to Scott Dawson and Rusev, even if Lana turned out better later on she wasn't great to begin with in NXT.
William Regal would be a great manager too, he is good at psychical comedy as well as knowing his wrestling and promos.
Funaki was good with Hideo, it added a lighthearted side to him and he could've been like a new Ricardo Rodriguez.
They could even try to get some managers from the past in a similar deal to Rhyno,. Sinister Minister, Armando Estrada, etc.

Managers should train in nxt as well as active performers. And can debut on main roster prepared.

NXT is a finishing school, it's the place where talent are meant to learn to cut TV promos by themselves, giving them a crutch like a manager defeats the object of this. If NXT abandons the training on the job aspect of the show, then sure, but otherwise no.
Training talent to be managers seems a little cruel since there probably won't be a long term place for them on the main roster as the policy is usually to take the manager away when guys get over with one.
