In Hogan's mind, the WWE should be doing all the work to rehabilitate his image while he reaps the benefits and continues like nothing has happened, with the company absorbing all the flak thrown his way. In the real world, the WWE can't afford to, they have a real image problem thanks to racism and can't act like it's business as usual with Hogan, not if they don't want to lose sponsors. The longer he keeps acting like this, the longer he's going to have to spend in the wilderness, he needs the WWE far more than they need him. Exactly. Hogan could give two soggy shits about the WWE Universe(and NOW I'm pissed off that he made me use that stupid f***ing phrase). He wants to use the WWE as a bomb shelter to absorb and deflect the heat. Fortunately, for once, corporate logic and common sense agree on this issue, and Hogan has to be a big boy. Or...well, he's being given the OPPORTUNITY to be a big boy. He's clearly not taking it.

I do wonder how many people loved in wrestling are just as big a racist or homophone or sexist as Hogan yet because no one did a hidden camera, they are loved. Wrestking is hardly renowned for it's lovely people. I still love Benoit matches so I can separate the performance from the performer. Not sure if that is a gift or fault. It's so hypocritical that Ultimate Warrior is now in the revered legend spot Hogan occupied despite his well documented homophobic rants.

If Hogan would just shut up about it and let it blow over, he'd be back to his revered legend status in under a year.

It really irritates me that the piper memorial mag had no mention of hogan. Hogan was instrumental in Pipers career. Scrubbing someone from history like that is silly to appease advertisers and stock holders. If hogan dropped dead tomorrow would there be hogan appreciation night and ten bells or would they not mention him? Damn I hadn't heard about the magazine, that's ridiculous. Firing him was the right decision and it's fine to not actively promote him but cutting him out of history like that is stupid. I think he'd still get the full tribute if he died though.

I love how he claims not to be racist, when a direct quote from his mouth on the tape is "Yeah, I'm racist".

It's so hypocritical that Ultimate Warrior is now in the revered legend spot Hogan occupied despite his well documented homophobic rants. I think this particular subject could be discussed in an entirely new thread. All I'm going to say on it is this: Warrior said some insensitive things, but over the years showed signs of maturation insofar as letting bygones be bygones. Whatever the reasons may have been, financial or through sincere desire to grow as a person, he did just that: grew. He carried himself with more dignity than he had in years past. As superficial as it sounds, during his last televised appearance, he even looked the part of a man who dressed his age, looked at peace with himself, and seemed genuinely thankful for the support of wrestling fans, as well as his family. Hogan, on the other hand, makes excuses and conjures up tall tales for his many past and present faults. His reality show portrayed him in a terrible light as both a father and a human being, and his inability to step away from the spotlight and change for the better has done him no favors. He still dresses and carries himself as he did when his stardom peaked...over 25 years ago. He couldn't make it more obvious that he's a narcissist, and has refused to age with an ounce of dignity. Time after time he has had opportunities to reinvent himself to the public at large, yet keeps performing the same old song and dance. I don't get feelings of schadenfreude from watching him make a fool of himself; the man needs to just own up and GROW up.

I love how the only person Hogan talked to (according to Hogan, anyway) to handle his racism-fueled issue was Triple H, who really did wonders for the cause of racial equality at WMXIX with Booker T.

I'm a young black fellow who never forgave Triple H over WrestleMania 19, yet I really feel for Hogan losing his entire legacy and don't believe he's that bad of a person. Just pitiful and insensitive, more than anything.
I personally want to see The New Day shave off his moustache and then throw a pie in his face as he repeatedly cries "I deserve this... I deserve this..." Then they all hug.
But that said, I might be actually crazy.

There's a similar thing Where Jimmy Savile is (rightly) demonised for his hideous actions but at the same time there's the whole Elvis situation.
Neither is right but one is remembered, one is almost forgiven.
I don't agree with any of it but it's not a black and white (oh boy) situation

This will blow over if Hogan lets it. It's not that big a deal but the longer he harps on it the worse it gets.
Honestly, if Hogan shuts up today, then by Summerslam 2016 he could be back.

Wah wah, I outright said I'm a racist and now my company doesn't want me! f*** outta here, Hogan. Co-signed to absolute infinity. Also, I have a feeling that Hogan spoke to Triple H about as many times as I did this summer. Trips and I always talk!!!
