Was this his last ever WWF match? Can't imagine Vince was too happy after seeing that display. What prompted him to behave this way? He's a vet...usually when you're told to go do a job, you do it. He had one more match, a loss to The Berserker the next night (according to Cagematch) and then he was gone. Not sure why he wasn't actually fired upon walking the curtain as you would think.

Hulk Hogan did it all the time in wcw. Hogan sold quite well, and then would do a brief 30 second Hulk up where he no sold some punches. But that was a part of his Hulk-up routine. I was watching Hogan v Flair on Nitro from February of '96. He took a suplex and was up on his feet before Flair. He no sold chops. He no sold an eye rake. He sold more for Jimmy Hart than he did for Flair.

I'm pretty sure I've seen other videos where he does sameThe most famous was when he no-sold Lawler's piledriver in Memphis. While it was lambasted for years by the in-the-know fans, truth was that it was Lawler's idea for him to do so. Lawler's piledriver at the time was death (and had been "banned" off and on for years in Memphis, so that the use of it was supposed to be a last ditch resort).

I don't know if it's so much no-selling as a mix of meth, hallucinogens and goodness knows what else, but there's that Sting-Hardy PPV main event in TNA.

I vividly remember Vader powerbombing Hogan at the Clash before SuperBrawl 95 and Hogan sold it for maybe five seconds and shot back up to his feet.

Hacksaw takes a Diamond Cutter at Bash at the Beach 96 and is back on his feet before DDP.
I'm just watching King of the Ring 1997 and L.O.D. team up with Psycho Sid in a losing effort against The Hart Foundation - former World Champion Sid has to take the pinfall whilst L.O.D. continue beating up their opponents after the match. Sigh.

youtube.com/watch?v=obRe6Qoe-f8Earthquake vs Koji Kitao. Kitao starts completely no selling everything and spends the rest of the match either trying to kick 'Quake or poke him in the eye, before grabbing a mic and shouting "Wrestling is fake".

Was this his last ever WWF match? Can't imagine Vince was too happy after seeing that display. What prompted him to behave this way? He's a vet...usually when you're told to go do a job, you do it. It was. IIRC he'd had a WCW deal in place for a few months and was just phoning much of his WWF work at the end in; however the roster was weirdly light at the time so he actually got a bit more work (a Survivor Series spot and a Rumble spot) in than a departing superstar probably would've. He was in a battle royal after this Sid match, and after I learned of this match and that it was Herc's final WWF event the nature of his elimination from that battle royal (by Hogan) made it seem like Hogan was told "Smack Herc around and get him the hell out of there." Even Herc looked legit surprised after being tossed. EDIT: A Berserker match the next night.... Huh. I guess maybe there was a momentary hassle of firing him and replacing him? The battle royal toss sure looked like retribution for that Sid no-sell, though.

Jim Duggan against Alex Wright, he cut Berlyn off at the knees and should have been fired like Paul Roma was.

Any match Mill Mascaras had been in He also did it while sucking in his gut for all of his matches, which puts him in his very own "tier."

The battle royal toss sure looked like retribution for that Sid no-sell, though. It's possible it wasn't retribution but just making sure to eliminate him because he could f*** things up, and had already demonstrated he didn't give a shit by then. In a regular match, it wasn't needed since a ref could simply not cooperate, but with the elimination aspect, he had a greater ability to be a nuisance if he chose to be. I guess maybe the logic was to not even risk it, and Hogan was strong enough to toss him without needing much cooperation on his part.
