That corner powerbomb spot is freaking brutal. I am surprised as many guys agree to it as do. That brings us to Sting taking it twice. And a table spot. Is Sting crazy? Because we only hear about him as being level-headed, why would he agree to such dangerous spots at his age? I doubt Flair would even agree to that when he was Sting ' s age.
Why would an agent allow that? Why would Rollins agree to it? Doesn't it sound like someone should be to blame for this?

Because maybe Sting wanted to do a few big spots for maybe one of the last great big matches of his career and maybe his only WWE Title match he will ever have in his career?
No one is to blame, accidents happen, stop trying to start something that doesn't need to be started.

I am not trying to start anything, I just can't understand someone not stopping to think that Sting shouldn't do that. Sting has had great matches for 30 years without spots like that. It seemed so irresponsible and over the top that it even made me uncomfortable, and I have been a fan for 25 years. I have seen everything happen in wrestling, not easy to make me feel uncomfortable.

It seemed so irresponsible and over the top that it even made me uncomfortable, and I have been a fan for 25 years. I have seen everything happen in wrestling, not easy to make me feel uncomfortable. It was an accident, plain and simple, the Buckle Bomb was done to many people, many times, to Cena with many neck issues and Sting once in the match. Things like this just happen. No one is at fault, there is always a risk, and Sting knew that, but as I said, this may have been his only WWE Title match he will ever have in his career, and who knows how many more matches he will have after the fact, so he went all out for the people who paid money to see him in the main event, he didn't want to phone it in, and that meant taking some high bumps.
It just happens man, I get how it could make you feel uncomfortable, but no one is to blame for this

Sting looked at what Undertaker did at Summerslam and thought he could match that maybe?

Honestly, I don't think the powerbomb would have been as bad if he hadn't already taken the table spot. That looked way more brutal, I reckon that the table spot kinda weakened him, maybe damaged his ribs, and the powerbomb was the last thing needed to maybe break a rib.

"He shouldn't taken that table bump" "He should of said no to the buckle bomb" "He should know better because he's older" God bless you Captain Hindsight.

Might not be popular but I think OP is right, there's really no way to protect yourself on buckle-bombs. Ultimately it's on Sting to say "hey, I don't know about this spot", but it is kind of unbelievable nobody would step in and say "Absolutely not, Seth you aren't powerbombing him into the turnbuckles, it's not an essential move for this match".

I don't think it was a huge deal. How many times have you seen that spot? I've seen it hundreds of times and everyone was fine.
Shit happens. It'd be like saying the Muscle Buster is a reckless move because Tyson Kidd was hurt.
Wrestling is dangerous. People are getting dropped on wood planks with a tiny ass laughable cushion over it. There's not much else to say. (and yes I know in this case it's not Sting being dropped on the wood, heh)

I think Sting might have agreed to a lot to try to make the most of the opportunity, but things went badly, basically. I don't necessarily think anyone is to blame but Lady Fortune.

Most of the time, it's basically the same bump as an Irish whip into the turnbuckle. Maybe a bit more amped up.
I'd chalk it down to some kind of freak accident as opposed to anything inherently wrong with the move.

It's an incredibly dangerous business and people can get hurt on virtually every spot imaginable. Shit like this happens.
Now, Sting is 56. Would I have been reticent to do this spot considering his shape and age? Probably, but Sting thought he was good to go.
Accidents happen.
