Huh, they didn't have "Seth Rollins" trademarked before? WWE actually has two trademark applications on "Seth Rollins." One is for merchandise, and the other is for his in-ring activities. Word Mark SETH ROLLINS Goods and Services IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment services, namely, a television show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; sports entertainment rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing information in the fields of sports, entertainment and related topics via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs, in the fields of sports entertainment; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing television show about professional wrestlers; Entertainment services, namely, an animated series about professional wrestlers. FIRST USE: 20100930. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 20100930 Standard Characters Claimed Mark Drawing Code (4) STANDARD CHARACTER MARK Serial Number 86017534 Filing Date July 23, 2013 Current Basis 1A Original Filing Basis 1B Published for Opposition January 21, 2014 Owner (APPLICANT) World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. Dienes-Middlen Type of Mark SERVICE MARK Register PRINCIPAL Other Data The name "SETH ROLLINS" does not identify a living individual. Live/Dead Indicator LIVE It's not unusual for WWE to file multiple applications on a single wrestler's name. For example, the company has five applications on "John Cena" and four on "Randy Orton." A trademark application has to be EXTREMELY specific about how the word, phrase, or picture will be used. So WWE might send one in just for someone's name to appear on clothing. Then they might submit another one for that same name on toys. Now here's something odd: WWE abandoned the "Lunatic Fringe" trademark as it relates to clothing, but the one for the actual gimmick is still active: Word Mark LUNATIC FRINGE Goods and Services IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media namely, television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal; Providing a website in the field of sports. If WWE tried to release Ambrose, he'll just rebound clothesline everyone in management and they'll never be able to get rid of him. I don't know man. If anyone can see an Ambrose rebound clothesline coming, it's WWE management. Considering how slow Ambrose does the rebound clothesline, EVERYONE should be able to see it coming.

Isn't that blackmail/extortion? No, that's getting paid for something you own. The WWE did not renew the trademark. The do not own it but would look to profit from that trademark, which could technically be owned by someone else. Right? See: "Superstars of Wrestling"

Ok but what does this have to do with John Cena's brother? His time is up, Cena's is now

Ambrose got that name from a radio station so that makes sense. I always laughed when they'd call him that and expected (because I have problems) Dawn Marie to show up as "The Dawn Patrol".

I'm not sure how they thought they could trademark Lunatic Fringe. Isn't that a Red Rider song? As far as I know you can't trademark a song title. It's slightly different- usually for trademarks, it depends specifically on certain businesses for that reason. If WWE's making these trademarks, it's usually specifically for professional wrestling purposes (so in this example- you could have theoretically called a record shop "Lunatic Fringe" (or the radio station Ambrose stole the term from could use it as its tagline)...but, you can't become a pro wrestler and call yourself, your tag team, your stable, etc. "Lunatic Fringe".)

I look through the TNA site and there's loads of stuff for that WWE guy Sting, for that NXT guy Samoa Joe, for that one Kliq member Kevin Nash, for Rob Van Dam...I thought she already took WWEShop's site.

Time to open my own WWEShop and start my own WWE HD channel. Also, Candice Michelle is now mine. Someone get that Russian guy who made the SMITH shirts! His time to shine again has come!

Really hope there's newz items online about Dean Ambrose, Naomi, Stardust, and Hornswoggle being released, while The Rock has been blacklisted forever. If WWE tried to release Ambrose, he'll just rebound clothesline everyone in management and they'll never be able to get rid of him. nah he'll just take so long on the rebound part that everyone will have time to get out of the way. and leave the office. and get in the cars. and go home. and go to sleep. and go to work the next day. then go home. then maybe he'll hit the clothesline. knock down some filing cabinets or something.
