I kind of feel a bit bad for him. Like, he obviously still wants to be there, and he's really under no obligation to just stop and quit just because (non-specific) you want that younger guy to get pushed instead. That's not his responsibility. He's entitled to try and make a living just like the rest of them. Yet, because of bad booking that is plaguing the whole roster up and down the card, male AND female, he's been made into some sort of pariah. Same thing with Kane. I guess them's the breaks with being the only visible part of the medium that crowds can react to. I mean, they're never going to send Dunn out there, or some guy on the writing team. It's easy to say, "Oh, he'll be fine, he'll find another job real quick", and yes, he probably can. But it's the principle of the matter. It shouldn't be up to the talent himself to force progress by getting out of the way, just because the owner and his writing team are reluctant to do so. I do agree with this. It's not Big Show or Kane's fault. But at the same time, they're playing characters. They're vets, they get it. I don't think this stuff hurts Big Show's feelings. He said himself he shouldn't be on TV often anymore. But, like you said, they keep writing him in, and he's making as much money as he can. I don't fault him, but I don't feel bad for him either.

If the fans think you shouldn't be on TV, then you shouldn't be on TV. It's not rocket science.
The only time I've ever seen him be interesting in years is vs Mark Henry, because that was a believable "This could go either way" feud built on escalating battles.
Also his finisher is just crap. I don't care how much people say "well a 500 pound guy's right hook is a believable One Hit KO", it's still just a punch in a world where interesting moves exist. What makes his punch better than that of fellow massive hand owner and actual former UFC World Champion Brock Lesnar?

If it helps any, I'm sure Show could genuinely not give a f*** less what fans think, haha. Hell, he's turned it into part of his act by yelling at fans that he's never gonna retire. It's actually turning him into a better performer, as bizarre as that sounds. Show's a really smart dude and he's one of those guys that gets the little stuff about wrestling during a time when it seems like so few of the roster actually does or care enough to incorporate it into their work. It's a shame the booking is so poor because I kinda love his character now. The big, angry, bitter giant that f***ing hates everybody and is only still wrestling because it pisses people off.

He's only been around 20 years and in the grand scheme of things that's not long but in wrestling that's like 100 years mainly due to him being heavily pushed ever since his WCW days. It's time to ride off into the sunset and call it a career. A up and comer can't even get a meaningful win over him these days. A win over Big Show and 50 cents might get a guy a cup of coffee somewhere. He's had a successful career...but it's over. It's been over for a while now. Cut him and move on.

Compare how Rhyno is booked in NXT. He's primarily there to add a little variety to the card and give the rookie some rub by association. He's treated as a special attraction rather than appearing on every show. That's where Big Show should be now.

I just hate that they tried to sell that rivalry as epic when if took all of 5 minutes for Brock to beat Show. He's been on TV too long. I don't buy him as a face or a heel anymore. Let him be a bodyguard but stop featuring him so much. He's had his time, give that spot to someone new. Plus the the fact that the hype video had a lot of highlights of Brock killing Big Show.

I disagree. They chanted that for a reason. People are just tired of Big Show at this point. Much respect for his talent, but he's just been around too long and his constant presence as a featured top talent is detrimental to upward mobility for newer talents (unless you're a pet project getting a rocket push). Lots of fans resent that. Agreed. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with him if he wasn't pinning the likes of Ambrose and Cesaro constantly. If he was used to build up midcard guys I'd be fine with it, but even still he shouldn't really be on TV as much as he is.

It's not his obligation to quit, but he admits he's on TV too much and he has the pull to demand a lighter schedule yet he isn't. Surely he can say something like "I just want to be on RAW once every 2-3 weeks" or "I want to wrestle <Insert wrestler here> in a five minute match, that way he gets on TV for once and I still get to go over without anyone getting mad". He has influence. He can use it for the betterment of the product, yet doesn't.

He's a cancer to the company, adding to it's slow demise. I can't feel bad for him.

A few people have dragged Kane into this. He's been getting face pops on RAW since he's been back. Whether or not you like him, he's got the crowd going so it is hard to right him off.
Show though, maybe it is finally time for him to hang it up. Or do the Undertaker schedule at least.

It's shocking that in 1993 Vince was trying to force Randy Savage into retirement during his prime yet here we are now and Big Show, Kane and Taker are main eventing.

Move him to commentary. It'll be an easier life for him. Whenever he wrestles, he's puffing and wheezing so much he looks dead on his feet.

Show riding a casket is still one of my favorite moments, and of course his leather funeral pants.. I still enjoy Big Show

Big Show/Giant was stale in 1997, yet he's still employed by the biggest wrestling promotion in the world in 2015. Not going to feel bad for him. Poor guy. Stale after only 2 years in the business.

He's detrimental to the product, eating away at it's ability to thrive at an increasing rate. He, along with Kane and Cena, are cancerous to the product's ability to grow and thrive. Business is steadily getting worse, yet they persist. It might be blunt, but it's true.

Just playing Devil's Advocate, how many job opportunities are there for forty-something giants? Getting stuff off the top shelves of supermarkets probably get old after a while, too.

Big Show has been shit and boring since U started watching again back in 2006.
He might be my least favorite wrestler ever. It's the fact very few people seems to come out of a feud looking good against him that annoys me. Even Brock last year looked a chump against Show both in the build and the match.
He's awful.

Yesterday was depressing, there he was the babyface and the people chanting him to retire. It's not gonna be his last appearance though, he'll turn heel next week. I think he has turn 20 times now.
