Don't kid yourself, it'll happen. Punk's MMA thing is increasingly becoming a pipe dream, and he probably knows it. He walked out because he realized he could get a lot more money being a "returning star", not unlike Batista. He'll wait until HHH gets desperate enough to say the right amount of money for the right amount of dates, and bingo, there we are. It makes sense, but I just can't see Punk being the type to swallow his pride and come back, especially with Triple H running the show. He is a very stubborn, prideful person, it's a big part of his entire identity. I could see him doing select indy or international dates before making a WWE comeback. Punk's stubborn, but he's got a huge ego too. I'm sure he'd see it as WWE (and HHH) coming crawling to his door, begging for him to come back. The metaphorical dumptruck full of money would just be the exclamation point.

Sami Zayn has been out so long I'd consider him a nostalgia act if he returned.

They are paying the price for not building new stars, and putting over part timers or stale talent at their expense.

I think the Hardys and Angle will be back in the fold...hopefully before Wrestlemania. If they need to pack Dallas, I think Angle vs Rusev or having the Hardys involved will help. Personel problems aside....the time is running out. Booooooooooo Angle Booooooooooo Hardys (in WWE). Eh, these guys need to end their careers in WWE. The Hardyz could do what the Dudleyz are doing, and do a short program for the tag titles, and/or Jeff could probably do a really good match with Rollins (I'm not saying he should win, though), so they can get their Hall of Fame inductions when the time comes. Before TNA screwed the pooch with Matt's title win, I assumed they put the belt on him to keep the Hardyz from jumping to WWE, since those rumors were floating around recently.

I'm still holding out hope for Dusty "The Lone" Wolfe to make a return and challenge for the us title in a quick 3 minute match where he loses but looks damn respectable in defeat or Horowitz haven't seen nobody better or since do the self pat on the back.you can grab either one for a past name and the fans will go crazy with confused excitement or Mild Annoyance either way I'd be happy

The reason WWE are using the Dudleys is because they feel that none of the other tag teams are "worthy" of being featured on RAW and SmackDown in any meaningful way. The Hardys could come in to do what the Dudleys are doing and "put over" a team like New Day....who are already over. They're using the older stars as a crutch instead of actually pushing their tag division. And I have no interest in Jeff Hardy vs. Rollins. Again, they'd be using Jeff to "put over" someone who is ALREADY over. It's nice that these older talents want to put over younger stars, but in this case, Jeff would just be losing a match someone else could be losing instead. Instead of using the Hardys to "make" Seth, Seth could elevate someone below him by "making them look good in defeat". Bringing in the Hardys would serve no purpose except as an excuse to avoid having to actually utilize their current roster. And imho, the Hardys don't have to be working for WWE to get a HoF induction. They should go in just based on what they've accomplished as a team and individually (although I wouldn't give either Hardy a solo induction).

They may not have to actively be working for the company, but they can't be synonymous with the competition, either. While I agree that it would be best to induct the Hardyz as a team, it may well be possible that we only get Jeff, since Matt didn't leave on the best of terms.

What do we expect when they bring back these guys and waste them by putting them into matches against guys who don't need the rub of being in the ring with someone as special as they tend to be at their first return. They wasted 3 years of Rock on Cena. Similarly Lesnar's first year back was used on Cena and Triple H. Sting comes back and he's immediately beaten by Triple H. Ultimately nothing is achieved and anything special they brought with them is fed back into the stale status quo. Then these guys quickly assimilate into that status quo, and nothing is ultimately gained.
WWE has a master degree in the Law of Diminishing Returns.

Do I dare mention the name...Chyna? She's sitting by the phone muttering to herself "It'll be my turn soon, it'll be my turn soon, they're gonna call, they're gonna call." only for Shera to end up calling her instead

It's almost like they need to create new stars or something. He likely says the same thing he does to Linda. "Does that even work anymore".
