I actually loved the first entrance theme he had before the one he has now. Maybe he should go back to that one?

They have a perfect reason for him to turn heel and especially heel on Cena. We are coming up on the one year anniversary of Survivor Series and what was supposed to be Zigglers breakthrough. Cena brought back the Authority. Sting got all the credit. He got stuck spinning his wheels and then his girlfriend decided to go running back to her boyfriend.
Cena used him. Lana used him. The fans used him. He's now only out for himself.
That would be a great springboard for him, but it's up to the writers to keep him in feuds and doing new things. Turning him heel and going from having awesome pointless matches against Cesaro instead of having awesome pointless matches against Bray Wyatt doesn't do anything

Meh, we've seen heel Ziggler. It was shit and boring.
He's just not a very good performer When he's heel he comes across as trying too hard to get heat and it doesn't seem natural and when he's a face he comes across as such a smug, obnoxious douche it's impossible to like him.
Send him back to the midcard. He was fine there.

Send him back to the midcard. He was fine there. The reason he was "trying too hard" was because fans didn't want to boo him because they respected his abilities in the ring. He was a product of the "Clone Era" yet could hold his own in the ring with any "Indy darling" and fans respected that.
