Anyone here ever use the screenwriting and media pre-production software Celtx? I was asking a friend a while back about how he's liking Final Draft and how I plan to buy it once I've saved up enough cash. He then recommended Celtx as beginner software since it is either free, or there is a free version of the software available. Anyone here ever use it? And if so, would you recommend it?

I briefly used it. Found Final Draft to be more user friendly.

I used it a few years back, I found it pretty intuitive as a beginner who hadn't used Final Draft or anything comparable before.

I tried Celtx for a while and it was okay for a start but I wanted to try other programs. Moved on to Trelby which I ended up not liking very much (it wouldn't recognize files which cost me something I was working on). Have been using the demo version of FADE IN for the last month or so.

I used it in college. It worked for everything I needed it to, but there's probably better stuff out there. The only problem I remember having with it was getting burned by the lack of an autosave once or twice.

Final Draft is much better.
