For me, Sara del Rey. Deserves to be right in the middle of the spotlight of what's happening in NXT, and hopefully soon to be WWE. I know she is behind it all, but she is the best I've seen stateside. I am not sure as to the accuracy of it, but I've seen it said that she prefers training like she is to being on camera, but I would love to see her at the very least wrestle on occasion in NXT.

He still wrestles, apparently, but only on super obscure SoCal indies. If the rumors are true there is a few states where Human Tornado wouldn't be able to wrestle. I know MS is one of them. But again it is just rumors.

Other guys on the same "had tons of potential or hype, but never amounted to anything significant" list, from various time periods: Vordell Walker Vordell still worked 6 to 8 times a month all over the deep south. And his wife helps run one of the biggest indies in the south. Just that online you rarely hear much about the various deep south indies.

He still wrestles, apparently, but only on super obscure SoCal indies. Yeah, he does it once in a while for a relatively well known Indie in So Cal(but not anywhere else) called AWS. Speaking of PWG, Chris Bosh. I mean, he had a small bit of success outside of PWG working CZW and IWA: Mid South, but that neck injury unfortunately cut his career short. He had the charisma and when he wanted to, the in-ring ability to go real far. After his last match in 2008(although he had technically retired in 2007), he fell off the face of the earth. However, according to Dino Winwood(another mid-late 00s PWG fan favorite), he moved to Texas, found Jesus, and has a family now.

Amazing Red is actually fairly forgotten compared to where he used to be. Thanks TNA.
Maybe not darlings but it's fun to remember random ROH guys:
Matt Stryker John Walters Chad Collyer Da Hit Squad EZ Money (ECW guy too) The Carnage Crew Xavier (most random champion) Special K

Da Hit Squad is starting to make a comeback, but there was the all issue between Danny Maff and Homicide that got Maff blackballed for a LONG time.
Vordell Walker got a rep while in ROH for being reckless and hurting people.
Ruckus kind of did himself in by big leaguing people after DJ took over CZW... and Deej basically just wanted to use Ruckus as part of BLK OUT to give Sabian something to do... and get young Rich Swann and Alex Colon over and Ruckus wasn't happy.
I forget which it was, but one of Mike Modest/Donovan Morgan no showed an early ROH event they were co main eventing and they never recovered.
Chris Michaels was in a career ending car accident back around when TNA was first getting started.

Another name that comes to mind: Azriael. I'm watching Death Before Dishonor 3 and the announce team is calling 2005 as his breakout year.
It hurts to say but Cliff Compton might qualify as well. Dude had a lot of love after 18 and 59, even getting a decent spot in ROH for a short time. Just a shame that there wasn't anything for him after SCUM.

Reckless Youth. I even named my "production company" in my TV Production class in high school "Reckless Youth Productions".

First name I thought of was Petey Williams and his Canadian Destroyer. I really don't count him as forgotten. The guy made it to TNA for many years before TNA became the joke it is now. After he left TNA he was in ROH until he retired. Michael Shane name came up. Wow that is a good one. I don't recall ever hearing him retiring but you think being Shawn Michaels cousin that he be more known or had more windows. He wasn't a bad wrestler.

I don't know if he was ever an indy darling but one guy that always sticks in my mind from watching old indies is Ryan Boz. I used to see him everywhere and it feels so random that I'd remember him unless he was good, was he?

Oof, Azrieal was one of those unfortunate instances of ROH trying too hard, too quickly, to make it happen. He got some hype and probably Gabe's attention by being a step or three above the other Special K kids, but that didn't actually make him very good.

As a British wrestling fan, I was surprised Andy Boy Simmons never got a look in by any of the big two. Yeah, he still wrestles on occasion but the guy's mad charismatic and pretty skilful.
Heck, as great as this UK resurgence is (and we have never had a more talented UK scene in a long time), Fleish, Storm and Simmons never becoming anything big is surreal to me. Mad Man Manson, too.

Manson I can understand. He always came across as a comedy character more than an actual wrestler. Fine for the midcard, not so great at the main event. I agree with Fleisch, Storm & Simmons though. All victims of Alex Shane having a stranglehold on British wrestling for far too long.

Well, making "Being CM Punk's friend's friend" his sole gimmick might have been a factor there.

Aside from his TNA run, Christian York
Also, Divine Storm Los Maximos/SATs
I think the SATs still work, with one of them being replaced by their cousin or something

Absolutely this. Probably one of the greatest gimmicks/athletes out there. Glad Shynron kinda has filled the gap for him.
