In theory it should of put more power into the X division title but it just became a device to only care about once a month when it was needed? With the success of Austin Aries with it I assumed this was there best answer for hot shot guy to title akin to WWE and Money in The Bank. Obviously they had the feast or fired match but that gimmick always struck me as odd because of all the components.
What are your thoughts on option C and it's "success" or lack there of

It's crap.
It killed what little prestige the X-Div belt had left. And TNA never used it in any way that helped the company. They had Aries take the belt so he can job it to Junkie Hardy at BFG, which killed the heat in the ongoing Roode-Storm feud dead. They also gave Sabin a laughably terrible run as champ before jobbing it back to Bully Ray.

I dislike the gimmick, but I am not a big fan of Feast or Fired, either.

Without Aries around the whole thing seems pointless to keep. They've made it his, and now he's gone, so it's best they drop it. I don't need to see guys like Mandrews get world title shots.

it'd be ok if the champ at the time said "No i'm x-division champ and i'm going to be the greatest x-division champ ever. i'll win the world title another time." instead of getting brow beaten into cashing in like Spud was. then it would allow them to phase it out if they didn't want to do it anymore down the road. but yeah it worked with aries because it was aries- a guy people saw as a main event guy. don't need the "looked strong in loss" normal x-division guys matches. just makes the x-division look inferior. but by insisting they win with option C you end up with the sabin situation.
