Is anything actually safe to eat?
Over the course of my lifetime, I think I've heard warnings that pretty much everything is going to kill me.

Study seems pretty conclusive and legit. Scary. Seriously considering cutting back to just fish and fowl.
Does the beef at Taco Bell constitute processed meat? It does, doesn't it?

Is anything actually safe to eat? Over the course of my lifetime, I think I've heard warnings that pretty much everything is going to kill me. Pretty much. Milk is bad for you if you drink too much of it. Hell, I've heard water is bad if you drink too much of that. I'm betting you eat too many carrots, your skin turns orange.

18% isn't that big an increased risk, but I do love my meats. I'll probably cut back a bit.

This is information that probably has been known for a while now but kept under wraps by various food lobbies. Surprised WHO even released this at all tbh.
I tell ya, sometimes ignorance is bliss though. I cut out red meat a while back. Then processed meat in general. I was pretty much on fish and chicken for a while then read some stuff on that pretty much put me off entirely. Its just to the point where either the way the meat is produced does more harm than good for your body or the ways in which it would be responsibly produced (where it doesn't rot your insides) is basically not sustainable for feeding the population.

Yes, There is a thing called water poisoning. And drowning. Well I specifically meant drinking too much water... not breathing it

The vast majority of humans have ate red meat. I assume the majority have also not got cancer.
Not really that concerning.

Honestly, particularly with regards to food, a lot of it boils down to just eating -less- of something versus completely cutting it out. People seem to want to see absolutely everything as an all-or-nothing deal.

Mmm, everything in moderation. The key is knowing what that moderation is.
Frankly I think there's going to be some real panic about this. It's already being seen along the lines of bacon sandwich = cancer in some quarters. I think it could've been reported a little less...sexy, I guess.

There is a lethal dose of pretty much everything edible. It's absurdly high for a lot of foods and drinks, but it does exist.

Not only that, but with all the things that add through- I think it boils down more to "if you live long enough, eventually you will get cancer" (and some cancers, like prostate cancer, do boil down to literally that exact fact).

Well I Won't be Fooled Again into increasing cancer risks for My Generation. Gotta tell my friends Tommy, Happy Jack, and Baba O'Riley that eating processed meat will lead them into a Teenaged Wasteland. I don't want them getting cancer Behind Blue Eyes of theirs. In the end with this info I hope The Kids are All Right

So how most food has been cooked for how long? I don't recall the super-specifics, but it's specifically when you cook it enough to char. I believe it's related to the free radicals present in carbonized (blackened) food that's the main carcinogen. Free radicals damage your DNA, and the more often your DNA has to be repaired, the more likely it is that something goes wrong in the repair process, and in a nutshell, things messing up in relation to either your DNA synthesis/repair or your cell division is what causes cancer. Similarly, the supposed link between being tall and having a higher chance of having cancer that I've seen floating around a lot, is almost essentially because tall people just have more cells overall.
