Eh, the thing is the death rate for the type of cancer this causes has been dropping significantly as screening has gotten better. Doesn't mean it's good to binge on things like this, but I'm not really that scared about this. If you eat a super heavy red meat diet, then heart disease will likely get you before the cancer does.
As for the notion that certain types of cancers increasing or not, you also have to remember that a lot of things that used to kill us, don't anymore. People get cancer more because people live a lot longer than we used to, where stepping on a nail would probably kill you. Cancer is affecting more people because they aren't dying as often from things like dysentary, pneumonia, scurvy, polio, smallpox, measels, etc etc. Beyond that, it's impossible to say what cancers did or didn't occur back then, because knowing what cancer was and having the knowledge to identify it was about as likely as having gold-dipped chimera testicles. Things like prostate cancer or colorectal cancer would have been nearly unheard of in times when we still didn't know cells existed or that we had to wash our hands to be sanitary.

There is a lethal dose of pretty much everything edible. It's absurdly high for a lot of foods and drinks, but it does exist. My ideal way to go out is now finding out the exact dosage of carne asada fries that is lethal.

WHO should link being born to cancer, since you know, we're all born with tons of cancer cells already in our bodies.

First off - i believe that its all about moderation. Knowing the healthiest amount of something to eat is really what matters.
That being said, I generally believe you could tell a certain group people that if they stopped doing something they liked they could live longer, healthier happier lives with less medical complications and they'd still keep doing it either out of spite, habit or just laziness (because its too hard to change).
So WHO, Johns Hopkins and every major medical research university could come out with research that proves meat is directly linked to cancer (its not, just as a hypothetical) and people will still either excuse, rationalize or simply disbelief it in favor of anecdotal evidence because A) people hate being told what to do in general and B) changing long-held behaviors and habits is probably one of the hardest things for people to do.

The vast majority of humans have ate red meat. I assume the majority have also not got cancer. Not really that concerning. People freak out without knowing details. Nothing's wrong with eating meat in moderation; people (and animals) have been doing it for thousands of years. The problem is that in today's world, a lot of the meat that people buy has been preserved with crap like sodium nitrate. READ THE LABEL. If the ingredients are few, basic, natural, and non-chemical, you're fine. (I think the only chemical I saw on packages of naturally preserved meat was calcium chloride, and internet research suggested it is not harmful.)

They can take my lamb from my cold goddamn hands. Seriously, people have eaten red meat for thousands upon thousands of years so why should we stop now? Don't stop eating red meat. "Processed". Food additives, steroids, worm/tick dip, supplements given to live stock, the diet they consume etc. all add up plus the sheer volume of it we consume to survive. That is the increased percentage of carcinogenic compounds in your diet. Not the meat, it's the additives that have modified food your body was Designed to metabolize into energy. It is the foreign substance introduced into your system. Your body won't notice it much if you consume it on the regular bc it adapts to what it takes to metabolize it into energy. But thos small amounts of difference add up over the long arc of your diet. That is the increased liklihood the study is speaking to. Cancer rates have spiked since the expanded use of additives, processed foods, steroids etc became the norm. Certain cancers didn't exist in ancient times. It is our bodies that have adapted to stimuli in all forms, in this case we are talking about food. You have slight alergies to things you come in contact with that you are unaware of bc the reaction by your body is either very benign or you don't notice bc you have become used to the reaction or you chalk it up to nothing but discomfort. I started doing nutrition response testing a few yrs ago and it opened my eyes to these concepts. NRT has become a scam and some (not all) NRT licensed nutritionists/natural paths use the supposed corrective supplements to make money off of people the same way a drug dealer does. The reality is if you find out what foods trigger these reactions, then avoid those foods. My body metabolizes enriched long grain white rice like sugar. When it does, the metabolized byproducts (the bad compounds) effect my lower intestine during digestion and settle into old injuries of mine (neck and back) and produc cramps or exaggerate spasms I have from old injuries. The NRT natruralpath I used to see would have me take a steady cycle of a suppliment called enzycore to compensate when I ate it. I couldn't just give up rice so I ate and ate the enzycore until it became fiscally unsound. I then looked for a solution. Don't eat enriched long grain rice, instead I started eaten no organic jasmine rice or brown rice. Sugars and cheese tend to exaggerate mucus production during colds or congestion. So don't do sugar or cheese during a cold or allergy season. Drink more water, if you eat bread that has been enriched than make sure you work that off thru activity afterwards. As far as meats, I switched to a haunted their concentration of grass fed beef, lamb, steroid free chicken, organic eggs, unfurled bacon etc and not only did I lose a shit load of weight, I sleep better, have more energy, evened out my cholesterol and I'm not Ben clear headed far more than before. In October of 2012 I had a PT test during a period of time I was eating total crap. I weighed 205 with a 38.5 in waist. In April of 2013 tested again, 184 with a 32in waist and I wphave maintained that during long periods of zero cardio work outs. the dinference was diet. In short, my body is supposed to be skinny. I'm an ectomorph. I put on weight bc my body didn't know what to do with the excess crap and stored it as fat. I knocked off the crap and stayed at my fighting weight. It ain't easy but it's what your body was designed for You're right, but you really need to get into the habit of using multiple paragraphs.

Living in general is bad for your health. It's true, 100% of cases end in death.

Let's be honest, if you're eating so much meat that cancer becomes a worry, the cholesterol and saturated fat would probably become an issue first.

I'll stick to eating people. They can't give you cancer. Unless you listen to Michael Douglas.
